Mrs Nellie Starr reports that
two grandsons, John and Richard
Starr, left Thursday for the arm
ad service. John into the airforce
and Richard into the army. He
will be stationed in Arkansas. The
boys are sons of Mr. and Mrs.
Boh Starr of Grand Island.

Shoemaker left Wednesday, May
29, for their home at Bryan, Tex,,
after a 10-day visit with his par

Mrs. James Platt drove to

Bob Jones university and to bring
her daughter, Miss Beverly,
home Beverly is a junior at the
mWrge.
Mr. and Mrs. Weller have
moved into the Platt house south
of the Platt Oil Co. in Chambers.
Mr. Weller has been engaged to
teach in the high school the com
ing year.
Mary Ellen Gillette and Carolyn
Winfirrmote of Chambers and
Zane Edwards of Amelia, all
students at Wesleyan university
rame Wednesday, May 29, to
spend the summer at home.

rhinestones. Her bouquet was E
pink roses, colonial style. E
Miss Jean Allyn of Stuart, a 2
I cousin of the bride, was maid-of- 2
honor. Bridesmaids were the Mis- 2
ses Alice Allyn, a cousin of the E
bride, and June Focken, a sister E
[of the bridegroom. Little Miss E
I Terri Allyn, a sister of the bride, 2
was flowergirl. 2
All wore identical dresses of 2
! pink sheer nylon. The flower 2
girl's dress was floor length and E
the otliers ballerina length. They E
wore white flower head bands. E
Their liouquets were white cadna- E
tions and the flowergirl’s was 2
daisies. 2
William Focken of Atkinson, a 2
brother of the bridegroom, was E
bestman. Groomsmen were Paul E

groom and Dick Sweet, a cousin z
of the bride. Ushers were Cal Al- 2
lyn and Doyle Focken. Danny 2
Focken, a brother of the bride- 2
groom, was ringbearer. All wore 2
light suits and white carnations. E
The bride’s mother appeared in 2
a blue dress with white accessor- 2
ies. The mother of the bridegroom 2
wore a navy dress and white ac- 2
cesories. Both had white carna- E

James Hansen of Atkinson ac- 2
companied by Joan McClurg of 2
Bassett, sang "The Lord’s Pray- E
er". E
A reception for 130 guests was E
served by Ladies Aid. under the
direction of Mrs James Allyn of
Stuart, an aunt of the bride, in
the church basement.
The wedding cake was made
and decorated by Connie Coufal of
Stuart. Grace Allyn poured, Mrs
Dwayne Philbrick of O’Neill
served punch. Mrs. Warren Mc
Clurg of Bassett cut the cake.
Servers were Donna McClurg,
Janice Sweet and Karen Focken.
Mrs Dick Straka, a sister of the
bride, had charge of the guest
book The Misses Evelyn and Al
ice Sweet and Doris Smith had,
charge of the gift table.
After a wedding trip to the i
Black Hills, the couple will live j
at the Lee ranch, south of Atkin
son, where he is employed.
Mrs Focken is a graduate of
Stuart high school, class of ‘57.
Mr. Focken is a graduate of At
kinson high school, class of 1954.

the funeral of her aunt, Mrs. !
