STL ART— Miss Marilyn K DeLosh, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Nolan DeLosh of Stuart, was united in marriage to Glenn Sorenson of Atkinson, son of M/ and Mrs. William Sorensen of Stetsonvillc, Wise., Saturday, May 18 at the Stuart Communi ty church. Rev. D. D. Su offici ated at the double-ring cere mony at 7:30 p. m. Given in man-age by her fath er, the bride appeared in a nylon embroidered gown over satin. The hand clipped scalloped lace formed a high French neckline and fitted bodice The long tap ered sleeves were fastened with tiny pearl buttons. The volum inous skirt was fashioned with embroidered lace scallops, which fell to a shirred nylon ruffle. A heart shaped cap of satin, edged with seed pearls, held her w-aist length tulle veil. Her pearl earrings were a gift of the bridegroom. Her red rose bouq uet was centered with a c-ymbid ium. Miss Lorraine DeLosh, a sister of the bride, was maid-of-honor. Miss Lois Finch, also of Stuart, was a bridesmaid. They wore rose Capri ballerina length gowns with rounded necklines. The criss cross sashes were tied in large bows in the back. They carried colonial bouquets o f white carnations trimmed with silver flaked bows. Best man was Allen Sorensen of Bristow, a brother of the bridegroom. Ushers were Ken neth Nelson of Bristow and Jed Robertson of Long Pine. The Misses Karen Robertson of Long Pine and Marge Marcel lus of O’Neill were candlelight ers. Their nile green Capri gowns had full skirts with cum merbund* and bateau necklines. They wore pink carnation wrist- i let*. The mothers of the bride and bridegroom wore navy dresses with white accessories and matching corsages. The bride’s grandmother wore a blue figur ed dress with blue accessories and white corsage. Mrs. Mark Nelson accompan ied Mis* Karen Van Cleave, who sang “Because" and "I Love You Truly". A reception followed in the church parlors. Mrs. Dewey Hal ligan of Stuart, presided. The Misses Sharon Marcellus of O’ Neill and Carolyn Tams of Ew ing served. Mrs. Edwin Engler \ baked and decorated the three tiered cake. Miss Lorna Marcel- 1 lus had charge of the gift table, j Miss Lucille Mitchell had charge of the guest book. For her wedding trip to Colo rado, the bride chose a figured green dacron full skirted dress with white accessories. Mrs. Sorensen attended Stuart high school and Wayne State Teachers college. I Nancy Wondercheck, John Garringer Wed in Candlelight Rite ATKINSON — Lighted white candles and baskets of lilacs and yellow snapdragons flanked the white arch woven with yellow roses decorating the chancel of the Atkinson Wesleyan Metho dist church for the marriage of Miss Nancy Wondercheck, daugh ter of Frank Wondercheck of Newport, and John Garringer, son of Mrs. Jenny Garringer of Plattsmouth, at a candlelight service, solemnized on Friday, May 24, by the Rev. Walter Steinkamp of Atkinson. The candles were lighted by Bonnie A 11 i n o, niece of the bride. She wore a floor-length gown of yellow. Rev. and Mrs. Phipps sang “Love Never Fail *th” and “ Saviour Like a Shep ■j-d”, accompanied by Miss Josie Adams, Who also played the weddng march. The bride was given in mar -iage by her brother, Oscar Wondercheck of Newport. She wore of floor-length gown of let over silk. Small daisies vith white stones circled the collar and the fitted embroider ed bodice with sleeves which ta x'red to points at the wrist. The ;kirt was fashioned of net over ,-ilk and dotted with white das es. Her veil of bridal illusion i vas fingertip length and held n place with a crown made up if seeded pearls. On a white Bible the bride carried a bou quet of yellow roses with long white streamers knotted with rosebuds. Her sister, Mrs. James Wertz, matron-of-honor, wore a floor length gow-n of orchid. Miss Frances Chaffin and Jeanie Wondercheck were bridesmaids. Each wore floor-length gowns with headbands of white rose buds and corsages matching ☆ ☆ ft ☆ their pastel gowns. Susie Taylor, niece of the bride, was flower girl. She wore a floor-length gown of yellow. Mr. Garringer was attended by his brother, Hershel Garringer of Plattsmouth, as bestman. Ushers were Grant Mott of Ew ing and James Wertz of Chad ron. Acting as mother of the bride, Mrs. Jack Strode wore a suit of beige with white accessories and a white corsage. The bride groom’s mother wore navy blue with black accessories and white corsage. Presiding over the guest book was Mrs. Art Lureen of New port. Miss Vivian Thurlow re ceived the gifts assisted by Vir ginia Thurlow and Beverly Mey er. Miss Marjorie Rahn had charge of the gift table. Following the wedding, a re ception was held in the church parlors. In charge were Mrs. David Rahn, Mrs. Leonard Chaf fin. Mrs. Roy Thurlow and Mrs. Joe Hendricks. The bride’s table was served by Mavis Rahn and Marketta Hendricks. Mrs. Glen Headly, sister of the bridegroom, poured. Mrs. Bill Allino, sister of the bride, served the punch. After the bride and bride groom cut the first slice from the three-tier cake, the remain der was cut by Mrs. Grant Mott, sister of the bride. For traveling, the bride chose a grey suit with white accessor ies. The couple will make their home in Plattsmouth. Attend Convention— Mrs. Clay Johnson, sr., and Mrs. Edgar Stauffer of Page, at tended a WCTU convention in Fremont two days last week. Mrs. Johnson went on to Omaha to visit her three sisters for sev eral days. Glen taught Celia school the past year and was married to Marilyn De Losh May 18 at the Stuart com munity church. Mr. and Mrs. Joe Hendricks and family attended the wedding of Nancy Wondercheck and John Garringer of Plattsmouth, which took place at 2:30 o’clock Friday afternoon at the Wesley an Methodist church in Atkin son. She re ceived a scholarship to Mount Marty college, Yankton, S.D., and plans to attend there in the fall. Sunday guests at the Leon Sisson home were Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Rexine. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Gibbs and family spent Friday in Norfolk where they were supper guests of Mrs. Pearl Gibbs. Mrs. Alice Lodge was a weekend guest in the Lambert Bartak home. Mr. and Mrs. Carl Bartak of West Point visited relatives in the Deloit community Thurs day, May 17. Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Beaudine and family of Omaha are mov ing to Buffalo, N.Y., where he will be in charge of a radio station. Mr. and Mrs. James Squire and Sharon attended gradua tion exercises in Neligh Tues day evening, May 21. Mr. and Mrs. Lambert Bartak spent Thursday evening in the Cliff Lodge home at Peters burg. The occasion was Cliffs birthday anniversary’. Miss Elayne Reimer came home from Hastings Wednesday, May 29, where she had been teaching. Mrs. Henry Reimer finished the school term at Neligh Friday, May 24. Sidney Anderson spent part of last week at the Howard Man son home in O’Neill. Mrs. James McMahan, noble grand, was in charge. Following the business session, a memorial service was given in charge of Mrs. Marjorie Kelley and Mrs. James M. McMahon. Mr. and Mrs. Karl Keyes were hostesses and served refresh ments. Other Inman Newi Mr. and Mrs. Dean Banks and son of Clinton, la., are spending several days visiting in the home of Dean’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. James Banks, and family. Bill Coventry spent the past week in the home of his brother in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. G. E. Hartigan, in Norfolk. Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Gannon and children of Bellingham, Wash., are visiting in the home of Wayne’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Roy M. Gannon. Otto Retke moved to his new home in the southwest part of town Wednesday, May 22. Mr. and Mrs. Albert Reynolds and family moved Thursday to the place vacated by Mr. Retke. The recently purchased the place Miss Carolyn Watson went to Norfolk Wednesday, May 22, where she visited in the home of Mr. and Mrs. G. E. Hartigan and Mike, returning on Thursday. Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Chase of Porterville, Calif., were guests in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Anthony the first of the week. Ned and Neal kelley, Gary and Larry Butterfield and Dick Cov entry left Wednesday, May 22, for Omaha where they will be employed this summer. Mr. and Mrs. James R. Coven try drove to Wayne Friday to get their daughter, Miss Kay, who has just finished her first year at Wayne State Teachers college. She will spend the summer at home. A/2c and Mrs. Ronald Coven try left Friday morning for Oma ha where they visited relatives until Sunday, when they left for their home in Tacoma, Wash. Mrs. Marjorie Kelley left Sat urday for Omaha where she will join her husband and son for the summer. Mr. and Mrs. Max Mossman of Norfolk spent the weekend here visiting in the homes of Mr. and Mrs. Leo P. Mossman and Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Brunckhorst. Miss Luella Watson returned Saturday from Holdrege where she taught the past year in the commercal department of the high school. Clayton Krueger closed his term of school north of Emmet Wednesday, May 22, with a pic- j nic. On Friday he left for Min burn, la., to spend 10 days visit- j ing his parents, Mr. and Mrs. El- j mer Krueger, and family. He , expects to attend summer school | at Wayne. James Sholes, Charles Young and Bert Kopejtka, who have been employed on a construction crew in the southern part of the state, spent the weekend here. Watson and daughter, Miss Carolyn, left Monday morning for Lincoln and Omaha where they will spend a couple of days with relatives.
