Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Holiday re
turned Sunday from a week’s vis
it with their son, Howard, and
family at Grand Island, where
they also attended the races.
The members of the King’s
Daughters will entertain the
members of the senior class and
their mothers Friday evening,
May 17, at the Wesleyan room of
the church basement. Members of
the WSCS are invited guests. Mrs.
Norman Trowbridge will be
master-of-ceremonies for the pro
gram and luncheon.
Mrs. Ethel Parks was hostess to
the RNA Kensington group for a
social afternoon in Wednesday.
Flowers for memorial day were
made. A covered dish lunch was
served following the business
meeting.
Mrs. Emma Kemper returned i
Wednesday from a 10-day visit
with her son, Melvin, and family
at Norfolk. During her stay, the
Melvin Kempers entertained in
her honor and also the George
Winkler family of Emmet. She al
so visited relatives in the Stanton
and Norfolk area.
The members of the young
adult Sunday-school class met at
the church parlors Tuesday eve
ning for their family party. Mrs.
Norman Trowbridge led the les
son. Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Stauf
fer were in charge of recreation
and Mr. and Mrs. Merwyn French
jr., were coffee hosts for the pot
luck lunch served. A picnic din

June 9.

ess to the Bid or Bye bridge club

noon at cards. Mrs. John Lamason

tractor division of the Eagle
Hustler’s 4-H club Tuesday eve

a former Niobrara teacher,
sailed May 8 for Rotterdam,
Netherland, on the Holland
American ship Maasdam.

preparation for her missionary

der the Africa Inland Mission.
Miss Ernst is a graduate of
Grace Bible institute of Omaha
and of Wheaton college in Wheat
on, 111. She taught several years
in Holt county schools before go
ing to Omaha. She taught one
semester in Illinois and two years
in Niobrara.
The past year she spent at
home with her parents, Mr. and
Mrs. Homer Ernst going out to
various places in deputation
work and preparing for her five
year term.
The voyage to Rotterdam will
take about eight days.

Weanling pigs $13.50 to $15
each. 80 pound pigs $24.50
each, 125 pound pigs $22.25
per ewt. Bred sows brought
from $55 to $70 each. Boars
from $45 to $57.50. Cattle
sold well in line with pre
vailing prices. •
