Emmet News South Side clu/b met with Mrs. Bessie Burge Tuesday, May 7, with a lesson on the redistricting of schools by Mrs. Paul Newton. Plans were discussed for the June tea—an annual affair which will be held at the Mrs. Robert Fox home. Each mem ber is to invite at least one guest. Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Smith of Caldwell, Ida., were Emmet visitors last week, stopping at the Frank Foreman and Mrs. McGinnis homes. They were the first people to live in the railroad depot here when it was built 50 years ago. For many years, until his retirement, C. J. was an officer in railroad tele graph union. Mr. and Mrs. August Troshyn ski went to Omaha on Friday to visit their children, who live there, and to attend the ordina tion of their nephew. Mrs. John Conrad accompanied them to visit her daughter and son in-law, the Ben Troshynskis. They returned Saturday night. Among the children visiting at the Joe Winkler home on moth er’s day were Mr. and Mrs. Charles Winkler and family, Ed Winkler', Bob Winkler and friend, Mr. and Mrs. Bob Hanus and family. Mr. and Mrs. James Schmidt I of Omaha were at her parent’s I home in Emmet over the week- j end. The two students who placed i highest in the O’Neill public school attended school in Em met during the grades. The NCCW will be entertain ed by the altar society of the church of Epiphany on May 22. This will be a deanery meeting. Emmet’s quota for Red Cross was just met by one man, John O’Connell, who contributed a calf which brought $34 when sold at auction. Mrs. Grothe and Mrs. McGinnis thank those who responded. William Tenborg and daughter, Mrs. Gary Enbody, drove to Tennessee this week to vist her son and family, the Donald Wagnon. Schmit. 4 To Wed Next Month Mr. and Mrs. D. D. DeBolt announce he engagement and approaching marriage of their daughter, Miss Pat (above), to Larry D. Krause, son of Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Krause of Kingsley, la. Miss DeBolt at tended two years at Wayne State Teachers college where she was a member of Tau Beta Sigma, national music honor ary. She is now employed at Consumers Public Power dis trict. Mr. Krause attended one year at Wayne college and is now employed with the Iowa highway commission at Sioux City. The couple will be mar ried June 9 in the First Pres byterian church, in O'Neill af ter which they will make their home in Sioux City. Jo Ann Braddock Is Bride at Page PAGE—The living room of the A. G. Braddock home was the setting for the vet-y pretty wed ding of Miss JoAnn Braddock and Bobby Joe Stevison Satur day evening, May 11. The fireplace was decorated with a mantel arrangement of pink snapdragons and white j carnations, before which the wedding party stood for the 8 o’clock ceremony performed by Rev. Lsle Mewmaw, pastor of the Methodist church. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Alton G. Braddock The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Grady Stevison of Waynesboro, Miss. The bride appeared in a full skirted, floor-length gown fash ioned of white tulle over satin that featured an over-lace bo lero over the fitted bodice. Her fingertip veil was modeled of il lusion net caught and held in a lace head band with a seed pearl and rhinestone trim. She car ried white carnations on a white Bible. Mrs. Richard Buxton, cousin of the bride, was matron-of-honor. Her gown was of pink brocaded tulle over satin and she carried a bousuet of pink carnations. Rusk Richardson of Lincoln, friend of the bridegroom acted as bestman. Following the ceremony a re ception was held for the 24 guests. Mesdames George Clasey and Otto Matschullat assisted with the serving. Mrs. Kenneth Braddock served the wedding j cake and Miss Alice French poured. The setting for the wedding was the same as for her parents’ wedding 27 years ago. MVs. Leonard Heiss, great-aunt of the bride, was present. She al so was present at the wedding of the bride’s parents and grand parents, Jennie Moffat and Wal lace French. The bride is a graduate of the Page high school and has three years training at the Lincoln general hospital school of nurs ing. The bridegroom entered the airforce following his schooling and is based at the Lincoln air base. The couple left for a short wedding trip and will be at home in Lincoln later in the month. Golden Rod Club Workshop Host EMMET— The Golden Rod Garden club, whose members are from O’Neill, Emmet and Atkins on, entertained at a workshop in the Lutheran church basement Monday, May 6 with 51 guests being served. Mrs. Leon High, state president of the Federated Garden clubs, Mrs. F. C. ’Logan, sixth president and nine clubs were represented. They were pre sented corsages made by mem bers. After an address by Mrs. High, coffee hour followed. The door prize was won by Mrs. Sageser and Mrs. Levi. The affair was held in Atkin son. Legion Honors Fox, Schneider— Simonson post 93 of the Amer ican Legion presented the legion merit award to Gordon Fox, O’Neill high senior, and Thomas Schneider, St. Mary’s academy senior. Awards are based on athletic ability, class leadership and scholastic ability. Selections were made by three members of each school with the football coach as chairman. Mr. and Mrs. John M.
