21, son of Mr. and Mrs. Alfred
W. Carroll, 128 N. Eighth st., re
cently was assigned as finance
clerk of the 64th antiaircraft ar
tillery battalion’s headquarters
battery in Japan.
Carroll, who has been in the
Far East since last June, was pre
viously assigned to the 64th ba
talion’s battery D. He entered
the army’ in January. 1956, and
completed basic training at Ft.
Chaffee, Ark.
In civilian life, Carroll attend
ed the University of Nebraska.

Spring flowers were banked on
the altars of St. Patrick's Catho
lic church Saturday, May 11, for
the wedding of Miss Barbara Ann
Becker, daughter of Mr. and Mrs
L A Becker of O’Neill, and John
Michael Currv, son of Mr and
Mrs. Michael B. Curry of Kansas
City, Mo. Very Rev. Timothy
O’Sullivan, pastor, performed the
double-ring ceremony at a 10
a. m, nuptial mass. Acolytes
were James Becker, a brother of '
the bride, and James Froelich.
Given in marriage by her fath
er. the bride appeared in a gar
denia white gown of antique
weave Douppioni silk, styled with
a long smooth-fitting bodice and
lopped with a sequin studded Al
eneon lace yoke It featured a
scalloped sabrina neckline with
silk covered buttons closing the
back of the bodice. The long fitted
sleeves tapered to traditional
points over the hands. The vol
uminous skirt was highlighted by
a front panel accented with Alen
con lace motifs encrusted with
white sequins and outlined with
seed pearls. The full gathered
back of the skirt cascaded into j
a chapel train. Her fingertip veil
of French illusion was secured
with a lace bonnet outlined with i
tear drop pearls. Her corsage was j
of pink cymbidiums surrounded
by white feathered carnations.
Miss Theresa O'Rourke of Kan
sas City. Mo., was maid-of-honor.
Miss Roberta Becker, a sister of
the bride, was junior bridesmaid.
Miss Mary Kay Stapf, also of
Kansas City, was a bridesmaid.
Their misty blue gowns were
ballerina length, nylon sheer,
with lace bodices and scalloped
sabrina necks and short sleeves.
The very full skirts featured a
large bow in the back. They had
matching shoes. Their colonial
bouquets were of pale yellow
pompoms.
Bestman was Thomas Curry of
Dodge City, Kans., a brother of
the bridegroom. Groomsman was
Eugene Hennessey of Kansas
City. Ushers were Andrew Whol
ey of Kansas City and Donovan
Becker, a brother of the bride.
They wore navy suits, identical
grey striped ties and white carn
ation boutonnieres.
Mrs. Becker, the bride’s moth
er, wore a mauve lace gown over
taffeta. Site had a matching hat
and biege accessories and wore a
talisman rose corsage.
Mrs. Curry, the bridegroom’s
mother, appeared in a navy pure
silk gown and a grey fur stole.
Her accessories were also navy.
She wore a talisman rose corsage.
Miss Marde Birmingham, ac
companied by Miss Alvara Ramm
of Stuart at the organ, sang "Ave
Maria”, "Panis Angelicus”, "Jes
us, Thou Art Coming”, and “O
Mother, Will It Always Be”.
A breakfast for 50 guests fol
lowed at the Town House for the
immediate families and the wed
ding party. Miss Lu Ann Fritton
and Miss Barbara Muff assisted
at the breakfast.
A reception from 2 to 4 p. m.
also was held at the Town House.
Miss Barbara Muff was in charge
of the guest book. Mrs. William
W. McIntosh poured. Mrs. John
G. Stuifbergen cut the four tiered
wedding cake. Mrs. J. Bennett
Grady and Mrs. Virgil L. Laursen
assisted at the serving table. Mrs.
Rex W. Wilson had charge of
the punch and Miss Lu Ann Frit
tin had charge of the gifts.
For her wedding trip to Colo
rado, the bride chose a black
Cupioni dress with a short black
and grey Rafftna jacket. Her hat
was black and white and her ac
cessories were matching. Her cor
sage was of pink cymbidiunvs,
Mrs Curry is a graduate of St.
Mary’s academy and the School
of X-rav Technology, Providence
hospital, Kansas City, Kans.
Mr Curry is a graduate of Re
demptist High school in Kansas
City. Mo. The couple will reside

to Be Shown—
“Three Minutes to Twelve”, a
38-minute film in sound and col
or, will be shown at 8 p. m.. Mon
day, May 20 at the Assembly of
God church, at Seventh and Clay
Streets.
This prophetic missionary pic
ture, filmed in Israel, includes
scenes of the place of Christ’s
crucifixion, the tomb where He
was laid and many other historic
places. Highlighted by the film is
the phenomenal return of the
Jews to Israel. Many Bible schol
ars feel that this return to Israel
is in fulfillment of Bible proph
ecy. The unique presentation of
Israel by this film helps to make
this picture an outstanding fea
ture of the church’s missionary
program.
The film is being shown for
the monthly, weeknight mission
ary rally. Rev. E. Kirschman is
pastor of the church.
