ROCK FALLS—Pleasant Day
club met on Thursday, March 28.
with Mrs. Henry Vequist. All but
three members were present. One
visitor. Mrs. Orville Morrow, was
present.
After a noon-day luncheon and
business session, the afternoon
was spent socially, watching TV'
and playing games.
Next meeting will be on Wed
nesday, April 10, with Mrs. Don
ald Sterns in the afternoon, and
the club will continue on this
schedule during the summer.

Mr. and Mrs. Albert Sterns
drove home from Omaha, Mon
day, March 25. Mrs. Sterns and
her daughter, Mrs. Lesley Strong
of Omaha, had gone to Racine,
Wise., to visit the George Barnes
family, but came home the sec
ond day when Mr. Strong had
the misfortune of getting a leg
broken while at work. Mr. Stems
had gone down to be with him
and his boys.
This last week was one of per
fect attendance. For art, pupils
have tried their skill at drawing
pictures with a crayon in each
hand. Thera Were some “very
funny" specimens. Six weeks
tests started April 3. In the
arithmetic contest held o n
Wednesday, March 37, at dis
trict 33, there were two winners
from this district — Rita Ve
quist won first in the eighth
grade and Jimmy Widtfeldt was
an alternate winner in the
third grade. Visitor last Thurs
day afternoon was Russell Der
ickson. Gwenda Schultz be
came ill in school Monday after
noon and had to be taken to her
home.
