MARKET REPORT
Verdigre Livestock
Market
Monday, March 25
Wt> sold nearly 800 hogs on
a market that was extremely
active. All interests seemed
to need hogs and the bidding
was brisk Extreme top on
butchers was $18 65 with most
of the No. 1 hogs selling from
$18 35 to $18 50 Very few
hogs sold below $17.75 unless
they were very fat and heavy.
Sows sold up as high as $16 85
and light butchers and feeder
pigs sold from $18.35 to $20 40.
A good demand was also
shown for brood sows and
pigs.
About 85 cattle were in the
run and the moisture and
higher prices on fat cattle
tended to make stock cattle
higher. We had plenty of
buyers for all kinds of cattle
and could have sold more.
