Driver, 83 Hog»
Escape Unhurt
Eighty-three hogs were dump
ed, none killed, about 1 a. m.,
Thursday, March 21, when a
southbound truck driven by Dale
R. Grieser of Beemer ran into
difficulty.
A broken drive shaft snapped
the brake line. When the truck
lost its foreward momentum, the
driver leaped. The vehicle upset.
The mishap occurred at the
Eagle creek hill on U. S. highway
281 north of here.

and A. G. Braddock went there
and took them into Lincoln in
spite of the blocked road condi
tions.

a welcome to Mr. and Mrs. \Valt
er Johnson, new arrivals in the
Page community, on Tuesday,
evening, March 19. The Johnsons
moved to the farm recently pur
chased from Mr. and Mrs. Art
Frahm northwest of Page. At
cards, Mr. and Mrs. Norman
Trowbridge held high scores
and Mrs. Delbert Anson and
Duane Soukup had second high.
The self-invited guests served
lunch.
Leon Smith of Kansas City, 1
Kans., was a Saturday to Mon
day guest of Mr. and Mrs. Pete
Nissen. He is a government sur
veyor on his way west and
stayed out the s-torm here with
his friends.
Mesdames Frank Cronk and
.Melvin Carson will be hostesses
Tuesday evening, April 2, when
the members of the King’s
Daughters will meet at the
church for their April meeting.
