Dorsey Lad Hurt in Coasting Accident DORSEY—Eldon, the small son of Mr and Mrs. Merle Spangler, received a deep cut on his lip Sunday evening while coasting down a hill in his wagon. He ran into a fence. He was accompanied by Larry Lieb who was not in jured, but shaken. It required surgery to close the wound on Veldon’s lip. Other Dorsey News A card party was held at Scott vilie Friday evening, sponsored by Scotville extension club and the 4-H club in that community. Pro ceeds were to go to help decorate the interior of the hall. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Arp visited the Lee Brady, sr., home and were overnight guests there Thursday. They also called on the Carson sisters and the Edward Carsons. They were sorry to have found the Carson sisters on the sicklist. Relatives in the Dorsey com munity received word of the death of George Tuch early Mon day morning, he ha* been in fail ing health for several weeks, he has been a patient at Sacred Heart hospital. Mr. and Mrs. Joe Cihlar were Lynch shoppers Friday. Mrs. Cihlar visited at her sisters, Mrs Lucy Hrbek, to help her celebrate her birthday anniversary. Dorsey received some wet snow this Monday morning. Moisture is "verv badly needed". _I_ Attends National REA Parley — Mrs Ed Wilson and son, James, spent 10 days in Creston, la., vis iting her mother, Mrs. J. C. Daughton, brother and sister-in law. Mr. and Mrs. F. M. Daughton. also her brother-in law and sister, Doctor and Mrs. Gault. Meanwhile, Mr. Wilson went cm to Chicago, 111., to at tend a national REA meeting. Mr. Wilson had a chance meet ing on the streets of Chicago with a fellow townsman, W. J. Froe lich, -r , who practices law there. Enroute back to O'Neill the Wilsons visited their daughter. Miss Cathryn. at St. Theresa col lege, Winona, Minn., and with another daughter. Miss Carolyn, who attends St. Mary’s college at Omaha They reached home Sun day. Collect Favors— EMMET — The Golden Rod Garden club met with Mrs. Leon Beckwith Thursday, March 7. Program was on roses—chocking planting and culture. Favors were collected for the Atkinson Memorial hospital for patient’s trays for St. Patrick’s day, each member having brought some. March 5, at the Bernard Hoffman home with Mrs. Elmer NVandersee a= hostess and Mrs. E. A. Farrier as co-hostess. Fifteen members were present and answered roll call by naming “an Irish song I love". Mrs. T E. Newhouse presented a lesson on kinds of roses and ,*rs. Janies Platt on "Nail those Nematodes". Mrs. H C. Walter re ceived the door prize, which was a book on rose arrangements. Lunch was served. The next meeting will be April 2. Coffee Hostess— EMMET—Mrs, John Conaid had a coffee Friday afternoon, honoring Mrs. Georgia McGinnis on her birthday. Nearly 70 women were present coming from several of the tuurches of the community. The theme used was “Who Shall Separate Us?” This service was used in 143 eountr.es throughout the world. Each year it is written by a representative of a different country. Following the responsive read ing, hymn and prayer service, a dramatization of the offering given by various groups was presented.
