Located on the north side of the Keya Paha River in
Keya Paha County, Nebr. and Tripp County, S. D., it is
truly one/of the choice and profitable ranches in this area,
which is known for high quality feeder cattle.
A fine and modem set of buildings, including a new, all
modem, 8-room house (only 3-yrs.-old) plus bams, gran
aries, sheds, garage, shops and utility buildings, make for
comfortable living and efficient operation. Improvements
are located on the Keya Paha bottom in an area of rich bot
tom land, highly productive of alfalfa, corn and small gram.
Possibility of irrigation in this area of abundant water
is an added attraction. Pasture and grazing area, sloping
in a northerly direction, are well grassed with a mixture of
all types of grasses on which cattle do well. Overall carry
ing capacity of this ranch is roughly 175 cows and increase
on a 12 months basis. 5 dams, 3 wells, and running water, as
well as an abundance of trees, furnish excellent water and
I shelter.
Rolling to rugged hills in the pasture make for further
protection against the elements and flies and mosquitoes.
Currently there are 200 acres in alfalfa, 140 acres of fertile
farm land, balance hay and pasture. Any ranch wife will
love the house, with its many built-in features and conven
iences—as modern as they come.. REA, daily mail, and
