Stanley Hemen way's golden wedding anniver sary and also visited with fsome relatives from away, including Mr. and Mrs. Emery Cory of Sid ney and Mr and Mr* Maurice Taylor of Madison. Mr. and Mr* Ora Switzer, Wendell Switzer and family and Mrs Amy Olmsted al so were guests. Mrs. Keith Biddlecome and Mr* Lionel Gunter entertained the Women’* Missionary society Thursday afternoon at the manse. Thirteen members and six guests were present. Mrs. Wayne Shra der became a member. Mr and Mrs Lynn Fry and family had Mr. and Mrs Floyd Napier. Mr. and Mrs. Dale Napier and Mr and Mrs. Lorraine Mont gomery and family as supper guests Thursday in honor of Floyd Napier's birthday anniver sary. Children of school district 86 and the teacher, Mrs. Rexin, ate dinner Wednesday, January 16, at the Dewitt Hoke home. Mr and Mr*. Lynn Fry and family ate an oyster supper with Mr. and Mr*. Floyd Napier Satur day evening. Shirley Miller called on Mrs. Wayne Fry Friday morning. Milton Biddlecome spent the weekend with homefolks, coming from Omaha. Paul Gunter accompanied the Rolland Hurd family Sunday. Keller-Young Rites In Kansas City The marriage of Miss Shirley Jean Keller, daughter of Mrs. and Mrs. Glenn Keller of Spooner, Wise., and Stanley G. Young, son of Mrs. Edith Young, | of O’Neill, was solemnized at 2:30 pm., Saturday, January 12, ; at the First Wesleyan Methodist church of Kansas City, Kans. Rev Harold Keller of Super i lor, Wise., brother of the bride, performed the ceremony. The church was decorated with i potted palms and baskets of 1 gladioli. Soft light was diffused from the two candelabrum. i Preceding and during the cere mony Rev. James Harris sang I "Always” and “Because” accom panied by Miss Mildred Britton i at the organ. The bride W’as given in marn | age by her father. She wore a laurel green suit which was trim lAed with tiny buttons across the back and push up sleeves. I Her hat and gloves were pink. 1 She carried a bouquet of white orchids and lilies of the valley ! wdth white streamers. The bridegroom w’ore a dark gray suit with a white carnation boutonniere Miss May Keller, sister of the oride, w’as maid-of-honor. She wore a pink tweed suit with r.avy blue accessories. She car ried a bouquet of blue carna ! tions. Robert Young, cousin of the bridegroom, was bestman. He wore a gray suit with white car nation boutonniere. Rev. Harold Young of Man ! kato, Kans., brother of the bridegroom and Rev. Lewis Currie of Giltner, brother-in law of the bride, acted as ush ers and candlighters. A reception was held follow ing the wedding with 75 guests present, at which the bride and groom received many lovely gifts. After a short wedding trip the couple will be at home in Kan sas City, Kans., where the bride groom is employed with the Tru man Schlup Engineering Co. Titanic Story Retold to Club— The O'Neill Women’s club met Wednesday, January 16, at the home of Mrs. Richard C. Smith son. Mrs. H. L. Lindberg read an article concerning Vic Halva’s re cent talk in Norfolk, relating his experiences coming to the United States aboard the ill-fated Titanic A film, ‘The Inside Story”, about tuberculosis was shown. A musical program was pre s e n t e d . Miss Dianne Gillespie , played a piano selection; Miss Marde Johnson played the flute, and the Misses Karen Hartronft and Linda MacKinlay sang vocal solos. Hostesses were Mrs. M. J. Baack, Mrs. Willard H. Solfer moser and Mrs. Louis J. Reimer. Vi*it* Daughter — Mrs. Edward Kellner of Valen tine is visiting her daughter-in law. Mrs. Donald H. Kellner, this week while Mr. Kellner is attend ing a electric meter school in Lin 1 coin. • Archie Johnston Family Feted Prior to Leaving Locality EWING—The congregation and members of the Sunday-school of the United Presbyterian church gave a farewell dinner at the an nex on Sunday, following the worship service, honoring Mr. and Mrs Archie Johnaton and family. The annex wa.* filled to capacity. A bedspread was pre sented the honored couple. Mr. Johnson ha? served as Sunday-school superintendent for the past year. He, with his oldest daughter, Sharon, were members of the adult choir He was also trustee of the church. Mrs Johnston taught an in ter med la to class of boys and girls in the Sunday-school. She held the office of secretary in the general missionary society for the past year. Marilyn, (the second daughter), was a member of the junior choir. The Johnstons planned to leave Tuesday for their new home at Bellingham, Washington, They are making the trip by car. Melvin Gunter of Orchard was a caller on Sunday at the home of his parents Mr and Mrs De witt Gunter Extension remodeling is being done by Mr and Mrs. Everett Ruby on the property north of the telephone office which they recently purchased. An officers meeting of the Women’s Society of Christian Service of the Ewing Methodist church was held Wednesday af ternoon. January 16, at the home of Mrs J L. Pruden Quarterly reports were made out and a so cial hour was enjoyed. Present were Mrs Florence Butler. Miss Anna VanZandt, Mrs L A. Hobbs. Mrs. Anna Pollock. Mrs John Wunner. Mrs William Spence and Mrs. Earl Billings Mrs Sam Burtwistle was a guest. The officers of the Ewirg township met Tuesday evening. January 15, at the Ewing public library. All members were pres ent Wesley Larson chairman, presided Secretary Don Van dersnick read the minutes of the last meeting.
