Tentative ly, the meeting will be held at the assembly room at the courthouse. Space is needed for future meet ings. '■* Market Report Monday, January 21 IT HAPPENED, Right here in Verdigre we had a $20.00 top on hogs. No, not on very many—but the bulk of the good No. 1 butchers sold from $19.50 to $19.80. Very few of the hogs in the 190 to 240 bracket sold below $19.00. Heavier hogs, depending on weight and quality sold from $1850 to $19.00. Bred gilts found ready buyers and there is still some demand for boars. One consignment of pigs, nine weeks old, sold for $15.00 each. With about 100 cattle in the offering, we had a nice cattle sale. There seemed to be some cattle of every class and buy ers bought them at prices slightly lower than last week. We are having a Dairy Sale at Newman Grove this next Friday, January 25th at 1:00 P.M. There will be 50 head of calves direct from Wiscon sin besides the usual run of cows and heifers. Lee of Ewing, recently was graduated from the 10th infan try division medical academy in Kitzingen, Germany. Spe cialist Lee, a clerk in company C of the division’s, 10th medical battalion, entered the army in January, 1955, and completed basic training at Ft. Riley, Kans. The 20-year-old soldier was graduated from Ewing high school in 1954. New Officers lake of Meeting INMAN—The Inman Worker’s Project club met Wednesday with Mrs. Melvin Lorenz at her coun try home. A covered dish lunch eon was enjoyed by the group at noon followed by the lesson on "Lanscaping” given by Mrs. Lor enz and Mrs. Linelle Butterfield. This being the first meeting the new club year just beginning the new officers took charge. The club voted to sponsor a bake sale to be held in Anthony’s market on Saturday afternoon, January 26, at 1:30 o’clock. Pie and coffee wil also be served throughout the afternoon. This is a benefit for the march of dimes and anyone who wishes to donate food for this sale, it will be appreciated by the club. Mr. and Mrs. Anthony are also donating a basket of gro ceries which will be raffled off.
