Noon Nuptials Read
in St. Patrick’s
Poinsettias banked the altars of
St. Patrick’s Catholic church with
Christmas trees on either side
for the wedding Saturday, De
cember 29 of Miss Elizabeth Jane
Gallagher, daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. Edward Mann Gallagher, to
Anthony Anewalt, son of Mr.
and Mrs. H. Phillip Anewalt of
San Diego, Calif. Very Rev.
Timothy O’Sullivan, pastor, per
formed the noon ceremony.
The altar railing had arrange
ments of white carnations and
the pews were tied with Christ
mas greens, holly and white bows.
Given in marriage by her
father, tl# bride appeared in a
white satin slipper gown with
a very full skirt, accented with
hidden hoops and ending in a
cathedral train. The sabrina
neckline featured a yoke of
Alencon lace re-embroidered with
tiny seed pearls and sequins
and in the back, tiny buttons
down to the Basque waist. The
long sleeves were pointed at the
wrists. Her illusion fingertip
veil, which matched the Alencon
lace in her gown, was caught by
a tiara sprinkled with seed
pearls and sequins. She car
ried stephanotis.
Mrs. D. C. Larson of North
brook, 111., was her sister’s ma
tron of honor. The bridesmaids
were Mrs. J. Robert Berigan
of O’Neill and Miss Barbara
Birmingham of Denver, Colo.
They wore gowns of Christmas
green velveteen with portrait
neckline and empire waist.
Their narrow ermine headbands
had jewel clips at the sides. They
carried tiqy ermine muffs, deco
rated with sprigs of holly and
wore one buttoned French kid
gloves, pearl chokers and match
ing button earrings.
The bestman was Richard
Sundberg of San Diego, Calif.
Ushers were Hicks Williams of
San Francisco, Calif., and D. C.
Larson of Northbrook, 111., As
sisting at the church were W. J.
Froelich, jr„ of Chicago, 111., J.
Robert Berigan, John Watson
and Edward Campbell of Green
Bay, Wise. The men wore navy
suits, with Mr. Anewalt wearing
a stephanotis boutonniere and
the others, carnation bouton
nieres.
Mrs. Gallagher, the bride’s
mother, appeared in an antique
gold satin shirt waist gown with
a bow in the back and wide
soft pleats. Her matching head
band of chiffon was sprinkled
with rhinestones. She had match
ing accessories and a cymbidium
corsage.
The bridegroom’s mother, Mrs.
Anewalt, appeared in a French
blue satin sheath dress with a
jacket. She had a tiny matching
hat and shoes, and a cymbidium
corsage.
Mrs. Joseph Hansen, of Nor
folk, accompanied by Sr. M.
Michael sang “Ave Maria”, “O
Sanctissima" and “On This Day.”
A breakfast lor 125 guests
was held at the American Legion
club. Organ music was played
by Mrs. Ruth Warwick of Nor
folk.
White, silver and green form
ed the setting at the club. White
carnations, greens and baby’s
breath formed the centerpiece
with smilax extending the length
of the table on both sides of the
bride’s table. The five-tiered
wedding cake had arrangements
of white carnations on either
side.
For tier wedding trip to Las
Vegas, Nev., and San Francisco,
Calif., Mrs. Anewalt wore a
biege wool suit, matching satin
hat, brown lizard shoes and
handbag. They will reside in
San Diego, Calif.
Mrs. Anewalt Is a graduate of
St. Mary’s academy and the Uni
versity of Nebraska where she
was a member of Kappa Kappa
Gamma. She also studied at
Rosary college, near Chicago,
111.
Mr. Anewalt, a graduate of
a San Diego high school and
Stanford university, is associated
with his father in the real
estate business.
Women s Society
in 1 956 Final Meet
STUART—The Women’s Socie
ty of the Community church held
its last meeting for 1956 in the
church basement on Thursday,
December 27, with 14 members
present.
The devotions and program
were led by Mrs. Noma Hall, Mrs.
Bessie Gettert and Mrs. D. D. Su.
The annual report was given
and the year's business brought
to a close.
Lunch was served by the hos
tesses, Mrs. Walter Gill, Mrs.
Ima Myers and Mrs. C. R. Myers.
Well-Filled Church
Witness Program
EWING—The Christmas pro
gram of the Ewing Methodist
church was presented Sunday
evening, December 23 at 8
o’clock to a well-filled church.

j by Rev. Lee Brigden, followed
I by prayer.

The second part of the program
was a one-act play, “The
> Christmas House", by the upper
room society, made up of par
ents and their families. Char
acters were: Mr. and Mrs Waldo
Davis, Betty Wright and Jerry
Tams who played the part of a
family; Claude Elliott and son,
Jimmie, Bobbie Tams and Dean
Kimes, shepherds; Mr. and Mrs.
John Wood, who played the part
; of Joseph and Mary in the pan
tomine scene. Musical selections
I throughout the play, were sung
I by the junior choir in charge of
; Mrs. Dewit Hoke, with Miss
Janell Hoke pianist. Others as
sisting in the play were Mrs. H.
i R. Harris, Ray Sedivy, proper -
, ties, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Pierson,
stage and costumes.
After the benediction by Rev.
Brigden, treats were distributed.

were presented gifts by the con
gregation.
