Thomas Engiehaupt and Miss Edna Belik were married Decem ber 17, 1931, at Martin. S.D. They are the parents of one daughter, Beverly Ann. Mr. and Mrs. Engiehaupt lived all of their married life in Holt county near Chambers, except for the past year in Inman. Their daughter, Beverly, sur prised her parents with a two-tier wedding cake decorated with silver trim. O NEILL LOCALS Mrs. Emmet Doyle of Chicago, I 111., will spend the Christmas! holidays with Miss Bernadette) Brennan and Neil Ryan and family. Donald Schoenle is expected home from the seminary at Elk horn to spend the hoidays with his mother, Mrs. Francis Schoe nle, and daughters. Mrs. Fred Bredehoeft returned Sunday, December 16 from' Grand Island, where she had visited her daughter, Mrs. W. D. Tomlinson and family. Miss Barbara McCarthy and Mi s LaDonna McNulty, student nurses at St. Catherine’s hospital. Omaha, arrived Saturday to spend three weeks with their parents. Edward McCarthy and Andy Goden went to Omaha Wednes day, December 12 and brought the airls back. The Misses Barbara and Marde Birmingham are expected Satur day from Denver, Colo., to spend the holidays with their parents. The RFF club Christmas party will bo held tonight (Thursday) at the home of Mrs. C. H. Switzer. The Merrymix club met at the home of Mrs. H. S. Moses Tues day for a dessert luncheon at 1:30 p iii. High score was won by Mrs. Moses. Guests were Mrs. Ed Ver zal and Mrs. Arlo Hiatt. Miss Mary Holiday went to Orchard Saturday evening where she visited until Tuesday with her sister-in-law, Mrs. John Holiday and other relatives. On Sunday she accompanied a neph ew to Omaha, where she visited her brother, John, who is a pa tient in a hospital. RIVERSIDE NEWS Mrs. Dewitt Hoke and her Sun day-school class and* Claude Elli ott and his Sunday-school class enjoyed a dinner and Christmas party at the Claude Elliott home Sunday. Dewitt Hoke was a guest. Friday afternoon Julie and Jody Fry celebrated their birth day anniversaries by having a few of the little tots come and play with them. The following mothers were also present: Shir ley Miller, Gloria Montgomery, i Marilvn Fry, Mary Napier and Marcia Vandersnick. Other guests were Mrs. Dave Anson, Patty Lofquist, Betty Napier and Mar garet Fry. Mrs. Robert Montgomery as sisted by Mrs. Wayne Shrader entertained the Seek and Share club Wednesday afternoon, De cember 12. A lunch of ice cream cake and coffee and mints was i served. Mr. and Mrs. Deke Lorrenzen Mr. and Mrs. Albert Albers and Mr. and Mrs. Alphonse Woslagci visited with the Rol Hord famil> Wednesday evening, Decembei 12. Mr. and Mrs. Richard Napier and girls and Mr. and Mrs. Dale Napier were supper guests at the Bill Fry home Wednesday, De cember 12. Reed 1 omjack Re-Enlists Reed Tomjack (right) is shown being sworn into the navy for another six-year enlistment. He has been in the navy nine years and is now a chief petty officer, second-class. He has been serving aboard the SS Bodonian Straits, an aircraft carrier. His parents, Mr. and Mrs. Leo Tomjack, took a one-day cruise aboard the carrier last week as guests of the navy. Mr. Tomjack said he was impressed by the heavy armament. Several salvos were fired for the benefit of the guests aboard, Reed is being transferred to the SS Cushing, a destroyer —Navy Photo. Inman News Arbutus Rebekah lodge met Wednesday evening, December 12, at the lOOF hall for its regu lar session. After the meeting the members enjoyed their annual Christmas party. This year it was in the nature of a silver shower for the hall. Mrs. Willametta Kelley, Karl Keyes and Mrs. Em ma Moore were in charge of the program. Singing of Christmas carols was enjoyed, followed by a covered dish luncheon. The next meeting will be December 26. The WSCS entertained on Thursday afternoon at the Maxcy Memorial addition at it’s annual Christmas tea. Mrs. Woodraw Gaughenbaugh presided. Mrs. Grace Gannon announced the program, which was in keeping with Christmas. After the pro gram tea was served. Mrs. F. E. Keyes and Mrs. L. R. Tompkins poured. A Christmes offering was received. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Meyers returned on Saturday evening from Crawford, where they at | tended the funeral of Mrs. Mey i ers. Church services will be gin with a midnight mass, fol lowing a procession to the Crib. This Mass is followed by a low Mass about 1:15 a.m. Christmas morning Masses will be at 7, 8 and 9:30 o’clock, j Benediction will be given after | the last Mass. Owing to the limited capacity I of our church, we are oempellod to exclude all children from the eighth grade down from mid night Mass. Confessions will be heard next Saturday from 4 until 5:30 and 7:30 until 9. Confessions also will be heard next Sunday from 3 until 5:30 and from 8 until 9:30. The Knights of Columbus party for the children begins at 7 o’clock in the Youth Center. Confessions Monday will • be from 2 until 6. No more con fessions will be heard after 6 Christmas eve. The annual St Mary’s grade school program will be held to night (Thursday) at 8 o’clock in the academy gymnasium, Dorsey News Mr. and Mrs. Glen Bare of Ly man visited at the Harold Osborn home recently. The Scottville Community club and the Lucky Clover 4 - H club held a Christmas party at the Scottville hall Sunday. December 16. There was a large attendance and a covered dish dinner. After dinner the children presented a program. Mr. and Mrs. Willard Aim and JoAnne were in O’Neill Saturday. They were also callers at the Felix Hendricks home.
