Sick & Injured PAGE — Mrs. Art Frahm was released from St. Anthony’s hos pital on Friday, where she was taken for blood transfusions to rectify damage done during a hemorrhage she suffered several weeks ago. It was her second vis it to the hospital . . . Roy Zellers l was taken to a Sioux City hos-! pital on Sunday, November 10, after consultation with an Or chard doctor and submitted to major surgery the following Fri day. His son-in-law, Richard Heiss, went to Sioux City and brought him to his home Satur day'. His condition is satisfactory. . . Janice Crumly entered St. Anthony’s hospital Friday for a tonsilectomy and was released Saturday . . . Mrs. Lisle Newman entered St. Anthony’s hospital at O'Neill, Monday, November 19, and submitted to major surgery on Tuesday, November 20. She expects to be home by the end of the week. Her mother, Mrs. Clem Haworth of Donlinson, 111., is helping care for the Newman family during her absence . . . Mrs. Benard Kornock was ad mitted to St. Anthony’s hospital Sunday and submitted to emer gency appendectomy that eve ning. Her mother, Mrs. J. E. Smith, is caring for her family. CHAMBERS — Ted Tomjack drove to Omaha early Thursday morning to spend Thanksgiving day with Mrs. Tomjack, who is a patient in St. Joseph’s hospi tal. . . Mr. and Mrs. Don Cam eron brought their daughter, Caren, home Wednesday, Novem ber 21, from St. Joseph’s hospital in Omaha. The little girl sub mitted to surgery about 10 days previous. She is doing fine. . . Kay Held, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bill Held, was taken to St. Joseph’s haspital in Omaha Fri day for medical care due to a heart condition. . . Mrs. Clar ence Young of Inman entered the Lutheran hospital in Sioux City, la., Friday. Her son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Max Jeffers drove to Sioux City Monday to see her. . . William Rieck is improving satisfactorily after his fall. O’NEILL — Bernice Elkins, a patient at St. Joseph’s hospital in Omaha, is “much better”. Her mother, Mrs. Margaret Elkins, was down to see her Saturday and Sunday. . . Howard Peters, who an eye removed twro weeks ago at the Methodist hospital in Omaha returned home Thanks giving day with Mrs. Peters, who had been down with him. He plans to go back next Monday for a glass eye. . . LYNCH — A1 Davis, who has been living in the Kersch rest home at Spencer, was brought by ambulance to the Lynch hospital for care. AMELIA — Raymond Smith, nephew of Mrs. B. W. Waldo, is a patient in St. Joseph’s hospi tal in Omaha. He is “seriously ill.” Cards Open Tuesday; Annual Intracity Clash December The St. Mary’s academy Cardi nals will pry off the lid of the 1956-’57 basketball campaign here Tuesday night, December 4. They will entertain the Atkinson high Balers. The O’Neill high Eagles will go into action for the first time Friday, December 7, against the Cards in the annual intracity classic. “The Old Reliable” MARKET REPORT Tuesday, Nov. 27th Cattle receipts 2,519 head. Fair weather brought out good quality consignments from 139 different consign ors for Tuesday’s auction. Auction was the best in weeks as heavy buyers from Illinois, Iowa, Indiana and Nebraska sparred for the of fering. Steer calves largely $18.50 to $21.50; heifers. $15.50 to $17.50 cwt. The market on yearling steers and heifers very active at prices a half dollar higher than last week. Steers, $16.50 to $18.50; heifers, $14.00 to $15.50 cwt. The largest run of cows in re cent weeks found a good out let at higher prices. Best beef cows $9.50 to $11.00; cut ters, $8.25 to $9.50; canners, $6.75 to $8.00; 99 buyers from five states attended. Atkinson Livestock Market City to Proceed Toward Armory In Tuesday’s meeting of the city council, steps were taken to file condemnation proceedings against nearly a square block of ground on North Fourth street to prepare the way for the erection of a 200-thousand-dollar armory, which the federal government will build. The city is required ta provide the location. Property to be condemned is owned by Roy Spindler. The council amended a recent amendment to the parking or dianee pertaining to diagonal and parallel parking, and entered in to a lease with the federal gov ernment for space at the airport for the omnirange radio direct ional unit to be installed there. Lease provides for housing space and access road north of the hangar. The board also voted Police Chief John N.
