Vets Assigned for Brucellosis Work Soon after weaning ail cattle, the owner will be ready to vac cinate their heifer calves for Brucellosis under the eradication j program. Vaccine and vetertn-1 arian services will be provided free of charge. In order that everyone may be serviced veterinarians have been assigned to certain precincts and it is their responsbilty to see that their precincts are serviced. Listed are the veterinarians and the precincts that are assigned to them: Dr. K. L. Bruce of Orchard— Iowa Verdigris Golden Ewing, and Deloit precincts Dr W. E. Technician Studies Airport Terrain Mr Stout, federal technician, has been in O’Neill for three days making the preliminary plans for Installation of the 100 thousand-dollar omnirange radio directional equipment at the Mu nicipal airport. Authorization for the equipment was made by congress in prepar ing the air ways for expanded air use and service. Mayor D. C. Crumly to Erickson Sunday, where they were guests of Mrs. Crumly’s brother, Jim, and their mother. The men hunted pheas ants and r eported they were not plentiful. Miss Maude Martin and Mrs. Eva Cunningham went to Oak land, Tuesday morning by bus where they will visit in the Leslie Stevens home. Mrs. Evelyn Gray went to Planview Monday where she will visit in the Keith Weyer and Gene Baber homes and attend an operetta in which her grand daughter, Bonnie Baber had a leading part. Walter Finley of Clearwater advised his relatives here that a cyclone had done considerable damage to fences and outbuild ings at his place Monday night and asked them to come and view the wreckage. Miss Maude Martin spent the weekend with her niece, Miss Effie Stevens at O'Neill. Mr. and Mrs. Soren Sorensen, sr.M accompanied their son, Rus sell, and family of Creighton t o Minden where they were week end guests of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Sorensen and family. Mrs. Harold Swanson of Kan sas City spent the weekend with her mother, Mrs. Pete Nissen, and Mr. Nissen. returning home on Monday. Moving to California Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Jensen, who have been residing in ar apartment at the Mrs. Harold Leise residence, plan to move tc California soon. Mr. and Mrs. Leo Tomjack spent the weekend in Tilden vis i itlng old friends. They became stuck with their car and had gone to get a tractor to pull them out. John was driv ing the tractor and did not real ize he was near the edge of the creek until the tractor began slipping. He jumped from the tractor and was caught by the winch. The other men helped him from under the winch, and summoned an ambulance. He was taken to the Atkinson Memorial hospital and later re moved to the Scottsbluff hospital He suffered 10 broken ribs and possibly two injured vertebrae Chipps, Lorenz Families Honored CHAMBERS —A g roup o f j around 100 friends gathered at the Bethany Presbyterian church : parlors, following the morning i worship service, Sunday, Octo ber 28, for a basket dinner and I fellowship. Mrs. Glen Lorenz and family, who are leaving the community soon for a new location in Cali fornia A nice gift was presented each family from the group Floyd Wakelee, 67, Dies at Creighton CREIGHTON—Floyd Wakelee, 67, a resident of Creighton, died about 8 o’clock Tuesday night, October 30 in Lundberg Memor ial hospital at Creighton. He had been admitted to the hos pital at noon Tuesday. He was connected with the j Knox county selective service I system for a number of years. Survivors include: Widow and one son, Lloyd.
