Harold Dexter and his bride, the former Miss Kathryn Hoffman.—O’Neill I’hoto Co. 1 lof t man-Dcxter Nuptials Read in Bethany Church Miss Kathryn Hoffman of Ew ing, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Hoffman of Ewing, became the bride Tuesday, October 16, of Harold Dexter, son of Mrs. Olive Dexter of O’Neill and Arthur Dexter of Murdo. S.D. The 2 p.m., double-ring cere mony took place at the rural Bethany Presbyterian church which was decorated with fall flowers. Rev. .1, Olen Kennell, church pastor, officiated. Miss Carole Hoffman of Eiw ing, a sister of the bride, was maid-of-honor. Darrel Dexter, a brother of the bridegroom, was ix'stman. Ushers were Wayne Hoffman of Ewing and Lawrence Dexter of Murdo, brothers of the bride and bridegroom. The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, appeared in a mink color street - length gown with a very full taffeta kirt. The jersey bodice featured a boat neckline and dropped hip line The sleeves were of three quarters length. She wore a gold necklace anrt earrings, a giti irom the bridegroom. She carried a white Bible with yellow chrysan themums with matching stream ers Her light beige velvet hat was rhinestone trimmed and fea tured a tie veil. The maid-of-honor wore a tur quoise princess style gown, which featured a large bow on the back of the bodice. The neckline of her dress was like that of the bride’s gown. She wore a white hat and carried a bouquet of yel low chrysanthemums arranged with matching net and streamers. The bridegroom, a corporal in the marines, wore his dress uni form. His attendants were attired in business suits and white car nation boutonnieres. Mrs. Hoffman appeared in a navy crepe dress and wore a white carnation corsage. Mrs. Dexter wore a rust taffe ta gown. Her corsage matched Mrs. Hoffman’s. Mrs. Daryl Walling at the pi arm accompanied Stanley Lam bert. who sang "Because,” “God Gave Me You” and “The Wed ding Prayer.” There were about 125 who attended the ceremony. A reception for one hundred guests followed at the church par lors. The four-tier wedding cake, baked by Mrs. Glenn Lorenz, was the center of the setting for the vellow and white decorations and fall flowers. Miss Vivian Harley of Cham bers and Mrs. Lawrence Dexter of Murdo had charfee of the gifts. Miss Diane Hoffman of Chambers had charge of the guest book. Miss, Mary Ellen Gillette of Chambers and Mrs. Raymond Bly of Amelia poured, Mrs. Darrell Gillette of Chambers cut the cake. Mrs. Dexter was graduated from Chambers high school and is a teacher at the Harkins dis trict school, southeast of Cham ! bers. Mr. Dexter, an O’Neill high school graduate, is stationed with i the marines in Japan. After a short wedding trip to the Black Hills, the couple will remain here until Mr. Dexter re ports to San Francisco, Calif., November 3, when he will re- j turn to Japan for a few months of duty. Out-of-town guests were from O’Neill. Atkinson, Amelia and Murdo. Crellin-( ramer Rites at Lincoln EWING—Mrs. Alice Crellin of West Point, and State Sen. Glenn Cramer of Albion were married Monday, October 15, at 8:30 a.m., at the United Presbyterian church in Lincoln. Rev. J. Dallas Gibson officiated at the simple cere mony before the altar of the church. Attending the service were Mr and Mrs. Ray Dill of West Point, close friends of the bride. The bride for the past two j years has served as the super visor of the infirmary at the Nebraska Masonic home in Plattsmouth, resigning her posi tion June 1. Since then she has made her home with the Dills at West Point. Senator Cramer has lived all his life in Boone county and from 1918 to 1946 was editor-publisher of the Albion News. He is now serving his fifth term as a member of the Nebraska legislature. Following the wedding cere mony. Mrs. Gibson served an in formal breakfast at the manse to the wedding party. Later in the morning, Senator and Mrs. Cramer left for Norman, Okla., where he will attend the Great Plains states conference on higher educatiin, as a member of the Nebraska delegation. They plan to make their home in Albion. The bride was the widow of the late Ray Crellin, editor - publisher of the Ewing Advocate for many years.
