social for Reverend Phipps, who
has served the Atkinson church

the newlv-appointed pastor.
The party was held in the Wes
leyan camp east of Atkinson
where the Phipps are living.

The bride, given in marriage by

I sweetheart neckline was edged
with scallops of lace accented
with motifs of seed pearls. The
long sleeves were finished with
lily points over the hands. A
pleated panel of tulle gave in
terest to the skirt, which extend
ed into a chapel train. Her finger
tip illusion veil was attached to
a matching lace cap trimmed
with pearls. She carried a cascade
bouquet of stephanotis centered
with a white orchid.
Mrs. Clem ZakrzewsKl, sister of
hi bridegroom, was the bride’s
only attendant. She wore a floor
length dress of pale yellow lace
and tulle over taffeta, with a tiny
collar. She carried a colonial bou
bolero jacket with a Peter Pan
quet of white pompom chrysan
themums.
Louis Thiele of Omaha was
bestman. Ushers were Clem
Zakrzewski and Jerry Markey.
A reception followed the cere
mony in the Liberty room of the
Lafayette hotel, Little Rock. The
bride’s table was decorated with
a centerpiece of asters and a
three-tier wedding cake. Serving
were Miss Ruth Whitehead, Mrs.
Albert Gasper, Mrs. Martin Mil
ler, and Mrs. Louis Thiele. Miss j
Hattie Koscielny was in charge of
the bride’s book.
For a wedding trip the bride
wore a two-piece dress of light
blue and black tweed effect with
a blue hat and black accessories.
She pinned the orchid from her
couple will live at 2816 South
bouquet at her shoulder. The
couple will live at 2816 South
Chester street upon their return
to Little Rock.

lodge met Wednesday evening at

grand, Mrs Mrs, Hazel Lorenz, in
charge.
Each member was to take a
“stay-at-home” member to lodge.

Mrs. Marye Hartigan left Sat

week attending beauty school. On i
September 24 she will take over
the Beautyland salon in O’Neill
which she recently purchased.
Mr. and Mrs. Pearl Cary have
returned from Iowa where they
spent several days visiting their
sons and daughter.
Mrs. T. D. Hutton left Saturday
for Sioux City to spend a week
visiting in the home of her son- j
in-law .and daughter, Mr and
Mrs. Vernon Green, and children.

joying his annual vacation from
his duties at the C&NW depot. A
relief agent is replacing him.
The high school class of the
Methodist church, sponsored by
Miss Barbara Brunckhorst, had a
wiener roast at O’Donnell’s lake
east of town Monday evening. Af
ter lunch, the group played games
and sang songs before returning
home.

spent the past week with her
grandparents, Mr. and Mrs
Frank Pierce.
Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Peterson
drove to Lexington Sunday to
visit their son - in - layv and
daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Wilford
Hatch.

near Albion the latter part of the
