Are Wed at Stuart

STUART—St Boniface Catho
lic church was the scene of a
pretty wedding at 9 a m. Thurs
day. August 30, when Miss Shir
ley Ann Shald, daughter of Mr.
and Mrs Ralph Shald, became
the bride of James R. Chaney,
son of Mrs Earl Chaney
The bride, given in marriage
by her father, appeared in a
gown of nylon tulle over Skin
ner satin. The fitted bodice was
buttoned down the back and
featured a wide star pointed lace
band below a high lace edged
neckline in a pleated tulle yoke.
Lace continued over the shoul
ders of the long fitted tulle
sleeves, with lace applique ac
centing the pointed wrists.
A wide band of pleated tulle
lelow star pointed lace outlined
the bouffant tulle skirt and con
tinued around the chapel train.
The lace and tulle panel was re
peated In a tulle apron - styled
overskirt. Her imported French
illusion fingertip veil was held
bv a pleateau headpiece of chan
tiily lace trimmed in tiny seed
pearls. She carried a white or
chid with stephanotis on a white
• ■rayer book.
Miss Marcia Bigelow of Om
aha. friend of the bride, was
maid-of-honor, and Miss Jane
Kunkel of Omaha, friend of the
bride, was bridesmaid. They
wore cocktail length dresses of
jjnwder blue creptalette over
yarn dyed taffeta styled with a
fitted empire bodice with a
bateau neckline and elbow length
push-up sleeves. A large tailored
bow with short wide streamers
gave back interest. A full prin
cess skirt was worn over stiffen
ed petticoats. They carried white
fans with shell pink carnations.
Junior bridesmaids were Patty
Chaney of Ainsworth, niece of
the bridegroom and Renne
Hitchcock, cousin of the bride.
Their powder blue dresses
were copied from that of the
bridesmaid. They carried blue
daisies.
Debbie Chaney of Atkinson,
neice of the bridegroom was
flowergirl. She wore a white
dress and carried blue daisies.
Mike Chaney of Ainsworth,
nephew of the bridegroom, was
1 ingbearer and wore a white
suit.
Iva Shald, cousin of the bride,
was an attendant. James Seger
and Don Myers ushered. The
men wore business suits with a
white carnation boutonnieres.
Mr> Shald chose a navy blue I
dress with white accessories for
her daughters wedding and the ;
bridegrooms mother chose navy |
blue with light blue accessories.
They both wore pink carnation
corsages.
A dinner was given at Stuart
| auditorium for 125 guests. The
bride's table was decorated with
I an arrangement of pink, blue and
white carnations, flanked with
white candles.
Seasonal flowers decorated the
other tables and the auditorium.
A reception was held at the
home of the bride’s parents in
the afternoon.
Miss Connie Hitchcock, cousin
I of the bride, was in charge of the
guest book.
Mrs. Chaney Is a graduate of
Stuart high school, class of 1953,
and a graduate of St. Josephs’
School of Nursing in Omaha.
Mr. Chaney is a graduate of
Stuart high school, class of 1950.'
and is attending University of
Arkansas in Fayetteville, Ark.
Following a wedding trip the
couple will reside at 16, North
Duncan, Fayetteville, Ark.

from the Chambers and Amelia

the churca in Chambers last
Thursday evening for a reception
in honor of Rev. and Mrs. Harry
Myers and tamily.
A program in charge of Mr.-.
Bernard Hoffman was presented,
followed by lunch and a social
timu. Reverend Myers and fam
ily recently came to Chambers
from Bloomfield.
