Monday, August 6, to 2 until 4
p.m. and 7:30 until 9 pm.., Mrs.
Margaret Eberly, superintendent,
has announced. Visiting will be
allowed in the morning by spe
cial permission only. No children
under 12 years of age admitted
to the obstetrical department at
any time.

The O’Neill Rockets Sunday
evening clobbered the visiting
Ainsworth team, 2-0, in a game
played at Carney park. In beat
ing Ainsworth, O’Neill grabbed
the honors in the North-Central
Nebraska day-and-night league.
Jim McGinn, hurling for O’
Neill, gave up four hits. Mel La
cey, losing pitcher, gave up six
hits.
The first four place teams will
start a play-off series Sunday.
The first- and fourth-place teams
and the second- and third-place
teams pair off. The winners will
then tangle in a two-out-of-three
series.

Midgets defeated the Inman
Midgets, 11-1, in a game played
Sunday at Chambers.

share the fun contest was held
in the Stuart auditorium Friday,
August 3, a? 8:30 p in. This con
test is held annually for develop
ing entertaining talent in 4-H
club members.
Winners at the Friday night
program included: Willing Work
ers of O'Neill; first blue; Clover
club of Atkinson, second blue.
These two clubs will represent
the county in the district contest
which will be held in the Stuart
auditorium on August 20 at 7:30
p.m.
Other ribbon winners were the
Victory Boys and Girls of Inman,
red; Emmet Elkhorn Valley,
red, and Stuart Elkhorn Valley,
red.
Saturday and Sunday, August
25 and 26, Stuart will again be
host to 4-H club members ut the
annual tri-county days. The 4-H
stock show and contests will be
held Saturday and entertainment
for everyone Sunday.
The Vern Grenier family left
Saturday for Washington state
where they will spend a two
weeks' vacation.

Cattle receipts: 393 head.
The cattle market at the Old
Reliable today recovered most
of last weeks’ losses. Recent
rains tended to keep receipts
light and strengthened eastern
demand for the replacement
kinds. Butcher cattle also
ruled 50 cents per hundred
weight up with the most ad
vance on cows. |
Good to choice steers sold
from $17.00 to $19.00 cwt. with
much of the run being made
up of yearling cattle. These
were fully 50 to 75 cents cwt.

able quality heifers largely
$15.50 to $16.75 with a few
up to $17.00 cwt. Feeding
heifers from $13.50 to $15.00
cwt.
Cow prices were fully $0.50
cwt. better than a week ago
with better beef cows from
$9.75 to $12.00; commercial
kinds $9.00 to $9.75 and can

cwt.. Bulls largely steady with
most sales reported from
$11.50 to $13.00 cwt.
