Other Chambers News Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Halsey and Mr and Mrs. Clarence Grimes drove to Tilden Sunday to visit a sister-in-law of Mr. Halsey from California and to! attend a reunion of a group of classmates of Mr. and Mrs. Hal sey and Mrs Grimes. Mr. and Mrs. Herman Cook and Mrs. John Wintermote of Chambers accompanied by Mrs. Ida Howard of Los Angeles, Calif., drove to Ord Sunday where they were guests of the Cooks’ son-in-law and daugh ter, Mr. and Mrs. Tracy Rath bun and family. M iss Eula Wintermote, who has been visiting her mother, Mrs John Wintermote, since completing her course in exten sion work at Ft Collins, Colo., departed Friday morning. Miss Wintermote was accompanied by her niece, Miss Carolyn Win termote. The two plan to visit extension offices in Iowa, Min nesota and South Dakota. They will return to Chambers where the former will make a short stay with relatives before going to Oregon to resume her work. Miss Wintermote was home extension agent at Medford, Ore., for sev eral years. Mr. and Mrs. G. H. Grimes were Friday evening guests in the T. E. Newhouse home helping M r. H. Medcalf, while in Chambers Saturday to attend the funeral of his brother, Ed Harvey. Beverly Platt and Jennie Hal sey came from Wayne for a weekend with home folks. Mr. a'sd Mrs. E. R. Baker and l>oys drove to Butte Sunday where they were guests in the Emil Luth home. Mrs. Charles Briggs of Red Oak, la., recently visited her mother, Mrs. Alma Farrier, and other relatives at Chambers. Also visiting Mrs. Farrier were Mrs. Herman Zettles and grand child of Long Beach, Calif; Mrs. Lena Springer of Heppinger, N.D., and her daughter, Mrs. Ce cil Goodel, and daughter of Sioux City. Mrs. Iva Hart of Pasadena, Calif., is a guest of her sister, Mrs. Sarah Adams. Mr. and Mrs. Ed Wright of Spokane. Mrs. Bridges is a cousin of Mr Baker and Mr Bridges is a nephew of the late Ed Harvey. They attended the funeral on Saturday. Mrs. Fred Ermer and Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Smith and family went to the Fred Smith home on Friday evening as a surprise for Mrs Smith in honor of her birth day anniversary. Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Stahly of Milford were July 15 weekend guests of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. T. E. Alderson. Mr. and Mrs. Ed Wright of Spokane, Wash , left Monday for home after visiting his brother in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Catron. Mr. and Mrs. Adrian Mitchell and Sharon of Atkinson, Mrs Anna Damero of Omaha, Mr. ani Mrs. Frank Moses, jr., and fam ily of Burwell were all dinner guests Sunday in the William Crawford home. Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Bell and Lana and Mrs. Vernon Whitaker and Amy visited their mother, Mrs Hattie Richardson Sunday. Merle Fagan, who is driving a truck out of Sioux City, spent the weekend with his family. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Coppac of Seward and daughter, Jerri, and family of Chicago, 111., came on Monday to visit the Bob Beed family. The Coppacs are Mrs. Beed’s grandparents. Mrs. Vernon Smith left Mon day for Columbus, O., to spend a four-weeks’ vacation with her brother-in-law and sister, Mr and Mrs. Norman Reninger, and family. Mr. and Mrs. Henry Myers of PUger, Harry Werner of Emmet and Mr. and Mrs. Pat Carey of Petersburg were Sunday visitors in the Kenneth Werner home. The former are uncle and aunt ol Mr. Werner. Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Smith and Mr. and Mrs. Gene Dohbs drove to Ft. Randall dam Sun day. Hood Completes Tank Course— BUTTE — Pfc. Delbert R Hood whose wife, Betty, anil mother, Mrs. Onie Hood, live in ! Butte, recently completed a three-week course at the Seventh | army tank training center in Vilseck, Germany. Hood, a tank driver in a tank company of the 11th Airborne division’s 188th Infantry regi ment, was trained in communi cations, tank maintenance and tank-infantry tactics. The 21-year-old soldier enter ed the army in May, 1955, and was stationed at Ft. Knox, Ky., before arriving in Europe in March of this year. July 22, for the annual reunion. A'dinner was ser%’ed at noon and the afternoon was spent vis iting. taking pictures and viewing pictures of previous reunions, Mrs. Z. G. Butterfield was the oldest in attendance and Alan Knapp the youngest, born May 22, 1956 Mrs. Fritz Klutsman and sons of Idaho came the greatest distance.
