Miss Arlene Walters Weds Gene Libby Miss Arlene Walters, daughter oi Mr. and Mrs. Henry W. Walters of O'Neill, and Gene Libby, son of Mr. and Mrs. Loran Libby of Page, were united in marriage on Sunday, June 24. at the Assembly of God church. Rev E. Kirschman performed the 2:30 p m., double ring ceremony before an altar decorated with baskets of daisies and lilies. Mrs. Howard Manson played the wedding music and accom panied the soloist, Carroll Lenz of Sioux City, who sang "Always” and "Wedding Prayer.’’ Mrs. Richard Nelson and Mrs. Craig Connell, both of O’Neill, sang a ouet, “O, Promise Me.” Given in marriage by her fa ther, the bride approached the al tar in a gown of lace and nylon net over taffeta. The fitted lace bodice was fashioned with a Petei Pan collar and long sleeves ta pering to points over the wrists. The gown was highlighted by a very bouffant skirt which cascad ed to the floor in alternating ruf fles of net over lace Her finger tip veil of illusion fell from a headpiece of orange blossoms. The bride’s only jewelry was a single strand of pearls, a gift from the bridegroom. As the bride approached the altar the bridegroom sang "I Ijove You Truly.’’ Mrs. Allen Walters of Colum bus, O., was matron - of - honor. Miss Demaris Lindberg of O’Neill v as junior bridesmaid They wore gowns of pink and green net over taffeta and carried bouquets of carnations. Miss Sharleen Johring and Ve neta Kirschman were flower girls. Freddie Johring was ring h*»ar*»r Gary Devall and Miss Connie Brockman were candlelighters. The bridegroom’s attendants were Allen Walters, as bestman; Russell Woeppel, as groomsman, and Ronnie Libby, as junior groomsman. The bridegroom and his attendants wore grey and brown business suits with white carnation boutonnieres. Norman Chritensen, Bennie Johring and Merlyn Anderson, brothers-in-law of the bride and bridegroom, were ushers. For her daughter’s wedding, Mrs. Walters wore a pink dress with a yellow and white carnation corsage. The bridegroom’s moth er chose a blue dress with a red rose corsage. A reception for 175 guests was held in the church parlors follow ing the ceremony. Mrs. Norman Christensen had charge of the guest book and Mrs. Bennie Johr ing, the gifts. Mrs. Melvin Johr ing cut the wedding cake, which had been baked and decorated by Mrs. Bennie Johring and Mrs. Melvin Johring. Miss Peggy Aim and Glcna Walth poured. Those who assisted in the kitch en were Mrs. Fritz Brockman, Mrs. Bennie Wetzler and Mrs. Cass Arrasmith. Serving was done by Beverly Thorin, Vernetta Krogh and Ruth Young. Following a short wedding trip, the couple will make their home at 556 South 25th avenue, Om aha. The bride is a graduate of O’ Neill public school and has been teaching in the rural schools. The bridegroom was graduated from Ewing high school and is em ployed as an accountant by the Union Pacific railroad. This wedding date was the 30th wedding anniversary of the bride’s parents. Rev. E. G. Hughes periormed the ceremony. Miss Audrey Cox 1 bill, cousin of the bride, sang "O, Perfect Gove’’ and “The Lord's Prayer." She was accompanied by Mrs. Stanley Shumwav of Fre mont. The church sanctuary was det ' orated with candelabrum and baskets of white peonies and mock orange blossoms. The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a floor-length l ivvn of embroidered tulle fash ,<>ned with a short-sleeved, shir i d bodice. The pattern formed by the embroidered design gave an illusion of tier-on-tier in the full skirt. A pillbox crown of matching tulle, sprinkled with seed pearls, held the fingertip veil. She carried a cascade bou quet of white gladioli, stephanotis and ivy. . Mrs. Ernest Campbell of Lin n was matron-of-honor and Miss Pettijohn of Oregon, Mo., was maid-of-honor. He is now at tending the University of Ne braska school of medicine in Om aha, where he is affiliated with Phi Rho Sigma medical fraterni ty.
