Chambers News Ruth Ann Damme accompanied the Paul Fisher family of Amelia to McPherson. Kans., recently to attend the graduation exercises of the dass of which Elaine Fisher was a member. Mr. and Mrs. Roy Koch of King's Lake were visiting Mrs. Elsie Sorenson and other friends at Chambers last week. The Koch family formerly lived here. Romaine Saunders of Lincoln was calling on Chambers friends Wednesday, May 30. He visited in the R. K. Platt home, the house having been moved to Chambers from his former ranch home, 14 miles southeast of Chambers. Joe Sinkula of Omaha, Ed Ur ban of Ewint and John Honey well of Chambers returned the first of last week from a six-day fishing tTip in South Dakota. They reported a good catch. Mr. and Mrs. Norman Renin ger and two sons arrived Sunday from a two-weeks’ vacation with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. William Reninger, and her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Porter, and other relatives. Duane Porter arrived home re cently from Greenville, S.C., where he has been attending Bob Jones university. Rev. J. M. Hodgkin left Tues day to attend the Methodist con ference at Fremont. Mrs. Louise Crandall of Atkin son visited ,'riends in Chamliers memorial day. Lyle Walter and son, Loran, and daughter, Elaine, drove to Ikirham, Minn., Saturday/June 2, to get the former’s daughter, Viv ian, who just completed a term in a parochial school there. Mr. and Mrs. Abdou Salem and infant son of Lexington visited Mr and Mrs Joe Daas and Jim Salem several days last week. Merlin Bressler of Wakefield visited his brother-in-law and sister. Mr. and Mrs. Gene Dobbs, and family memorial day. Mr and Mrs. Raleigh Blair of | Los Angeles. Calif., came Mon ; day. May 28, to attend the alum ni banquet. They were dinner guests in the Henry Fleek home Tuesday, May 29, and the Ray mond Shoemaker home on Wed nesday, May 30. Mr. Blair is a cousin of Mr Fleek and Mrs. Shoemaker. Mr and Mrs. Andrew Gilbert spent Tuesday night. May 29, with her brother-in-law and sis ter, Mr. and Mrs Z. X. Marshall, at Stuart where the family graves are located and Wednesday, May 30, with their son. Dale, and family at Atkinson. Eugene Adams and Jim Jar man attended the races at Indian apolis, Ind., May 30 and 31. Miss Neva Jarman of Chambers and a friend, Mrs. Hash of Nor folk, accompanied Don Fullerton of Amelia to California recently. Mr. and Mrs. Rovert Sanderson and daughter of Stanton were weekend guests of their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Sanderson, and son, and Mr. and Mrs. Nels Mik kelson. Lois Mikkelson, who had spent three weeks with them re turned home. Mrs. Mikkelson has been a patient at St. Anthony’s hospital in O’Neill. Mr. and Mrs. Louis Neilson and mother, Mrs. Holloway, visted their friends, Edith and Mabel Kenny, west of Elgin Sunday and attended services at the Park Center Congregational church. Mr and Mrs. E. R. Carpenter and father, Myron Carpenter, spent Sunday ni Atkinson with the formers’ son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Dean Ste vens, and family. Cherilyn Ste vens accompanied them home for a few days’ visit. Mr. and Mrs. J. W Walter and granddaughter, Ardith Walter, drove to Neligh Saturday. From there they accompanied their son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Dick Brion, to St. Louis, Mo. At St. Louis they were to attend baccalauerate services at Zion Lutheran church Sunday end commencement exercises on Tuesday for the graduating class of Concordia seminary. The Walt ers’ son, Norman Walter, was one of the graduates. Mr. and Mrs. James Platt drove to Omaha last Thursday to meet their daughter, Beverly Platt, who has been attending college in South Carolina. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Crawford and three children of Atkinson moved to Chambers Monday, May 28.
