Farewell Held for Rev. Payas, Family Interdenominati o n a 1 Job Ahead CEL.1 A—A farewell service and dinner were held in the Presby terian church at Atkinson Sunday for Rev and Mrs Frank Payas and sons, who are leaving soon for Wisconsin where they will visit her parents before going to Newark. N.J., where they will live. Reverend Payas will be enter ing interdenominational religious work. Those from Celia who were present for the affair were the Clarence Focken, Connie Frickel and Hans Lauridsen families, Alex Forsythe and Jim Laurid sen. Earlier the family was feted by the Atkinson Ministeria lassocia tion. Other Celia News Mr and Mrs. Bob Lare return ed to Nebraska City Wednesday, May 16, after spending a month with the Lee Terwilliger family. Perry Terwi ■li'wr accompanied them home and brought back a truck he purchased from Marvin Fnekcn of Springfield, Mo., which he delivered to Nebraska City. The president gave a report on the cake decorating contest vhich was sponsored by the club. The president also announced that May 24 was government day and June 25, the housing tour. 'rs. Richard Smithson, music '■der, gave a review of an arti cle on jazz and led in a song which was arranged by her and Mrs. W. H. Solfermoser. The song applied to the lesson. Mrs. | Smithson and Mrs. Solfermoser gave the lesson on “Sewing the New Fabrics.” They brought sam i pies of equipment and fabrics to illustrate the lesson. Mrs. Alvin Eymann became a new member.
