Club Meeting
AMELIA—The Helping Hand
club met Friday with Mrs. Frank
Pierre. After dinner the business
meeting was called to order by
the vice-president, Mrs Ralph
Rees There were 10 members
and five visitors present.
The afternoon program, which
consisted of games, contests and
a Chinese auction, was in charge
of Mrs. August Pospichal and
Mrs. Blake Ott.
The May meeting will be with
Mrs. William Ftyrear.
Other Amelia News
The dinner served by the
WSCS at the church Wednes
day April 11, was well attended
and netted a little more than
$51.
The O’Neill Photo Studio rep
resentative was at the Amelia
school Monday taking pictures of
the pupils.
Mr. and Mrs Lew Backaus
visited at the Howard Berry
home Sunday afternoon.
Mrs. Lindsey and Florence
visited at the Herman Meyer
home near Atkinson Sunday.
Mr and Mrs. Hugh Carr and
family were supper guests at
Kamphaus home Sunday evening.
Other friends gathered there
later in the evening for a fare
well party for Mr. Carr and Dar
rel. as they will leave this week
for a four-months' visit with rel
atives in Ireland.
Mrs. Maudie Hansen and Mrs.
Mamie Sammons were supper
guests Saturday evening at the
Mrs. Stella Sparks home.
Mr and Mrs Everett Standage
and family drove to Ravenna bn
Sunday to visit his parents, Mr.

took a load of personal property
to the Shermers while Mrs.
Thompson and Dean Prewitt
each drove new cars to Washing
ton for a Burwcll car dealer.

and family were Sunday dinner
guests of Mr. and Mrs. S. G.
Barnett.
Rev. J. M. Hodgkin announces
the Methodist men’s laymen
service conducted each Sunday
over station WJAG, Norfolk.

home Saturday from a visit with
relatives at Mountain View, Mo.

visiting his sister and brother in

are beginning the construction of
their new home on their ranch.

Mrs. Forrest Sammons has ac
cepted the position of teaching
the seventh and eighth grades
at Kimberly, Ida., for the next
term. She will teach only read
ing.

who died Tuesday morning, Ap

Clyde Widman. fell a number of
years ago. breaking her hips,
and had been in ill health since
