Lorenz of O’Neill (left) recently was proclaimed coun ty corn growing champion at a banquet held at Grand Island in honor of Nebraska corn growing champions. His yield of 83.37 bushels per acre was the top yield in Holt county in the 1955 na tional selected five-acre DeKalb corn growing contest. Unable to attend the banquet was runnerup winner Clarence Gokie of O’ Neill with a yield of 74.11 bushels per acre.
