‘Desperate Ambrose’ Title of Play INMAN—The senior class of Inman high school presented the three-act comedy, “Desperate Ambrose,” at the high school auditoriuhm Friday. The cast of characters included: Larry Butterfield, Bob Reimers, Charles Butterfield, Gene Couch, Ned Kelley, Neal Kelley, Kay Coventry, Lucy Cunningham, Francesh Scholz, Jeanette Wolfe and Helen Sobotka. Sam Watson, Roland Hansen and Garry Butterfield were stage managers.. The play was directed by Ger ald E. Nelson. Other Inman News James P. Mr. and Mrs. Floyd DeLong spent the weekend in Sioux City visiting their son - in - law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Sam Baker, and family. Horace Kiel of Plattsmouth spent the weekend here with his family. Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Nielsen and Kay spent the weekend in Grand Island visiting their son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Harlan Nielsen. Mr. and Mrs. Ira Watson and Sam drove to Valentine Sunday and spent the day visiting their son-in-law and daughter, Dr. and Mrs. W. J. Slusher, and family. William Sholes and Z. Smith of Buhl, Ida., spent the weekend here visiting relatives and friends. Miss Marilyn Siders, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ray Siders, ap peared on the amateur show over KVHC in O’Neill Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Richard Hutton and daughter of Bassett spent Sunday visiting Richard’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. T. D. Hutton. Mrs. Charles Gilligan of Sioux City came last Thursday and is spending a few days visiting in me nome or ner sister anu luuui er, Beatrice and Joseph Galla gher, and other relatives. Miss Marilyn Gallagher, a stu dent at Colorado state university in Denver, Colo., arrived home to spend Easter vacation with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. James P. Gallagher, and family. Mrs. Roy M. Gannon entertain ed the YM club at her country home on Tuesday, March 13. Mrs. Gannon served a dinner at noon. The afternoon was spent with hand work and visiting. Mrs. Vem Wrede was a guest. Mrs. James M. McMahan at tended the Past Matrons club at the home of Mrs. A. E Bowen in O’Neill Tuesday, March 13. Mr. and Mrs. John H. Mattson entertained at a dinner on Wed nesday, March 14, at their home in honor of Mrs. Mattson’s moth er, Mrs. James McMahan, who was celebrating her birthday an niversary. Guests besides Mrs. McMahan were Mr. McMahan and Mr. and Mrs. James R. Coventry. Mr. and Mrs. John H. Mattson were Monday evening dihner guests in the country home of Mr. and Mrs. Vem Wrede. The occasion was the birthday anni versary of Mr. Wrede. Mrs. George P. Colman enter tained the Inman Coffee club at her home last Thursday. A cov ered dish luncheon was enjoyed by the group at noon, followed by a social afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. T. D. Hutton en tertained the members of the YM club and their husbahds at a party at their home on Saturday eve ning. Cards furnished the enter tainment. Refreshments were served. Harvey A Tompkins, Methodist church lay leader, attended the laymen’s meeting in the Metho dist church in Atkinson Sunday. Mary E. Crawford at 82d Milestone Mrs. Mary E. Crawford, 435 E. Burkett st., Sheridan, Wyo., who celebrated her 82d birthday anni versary recently, now has 114 de scendants. Besides two daughters and five sons living of her eight children, she has 32 grandchildren and had 74 great-grandchildren when she celebrated her birthday anniver sary Sunday, February 26, at a dinner attended by 55 relatives. The 75th great-grandchild was a boy bom to Mr. and Mrs. Clif ford Fack of Tacom?., Wash. Mrs. Fack is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Crawford of Ta coma. » The dinner party was held at the home of Mrs. Henry Scholl meyer, 115 West Sixth, one of two daughters residing in Sheridan. Mrs. Coy Nelson is the other daughter. Other relatives also assisted in giving the dinner. Among them: Mrs. Fred Martini, a granddaugh ter, and Mrs. John Crawford, a daughter-in-law, of Buffalo, Wyo., who baked the birthday cakes. Mrs. Crawford, the honoree, re ceived many cards and gifts from members of the family circle and friends. After dinner some of the group played cards during a so cial afternoon. Guests attending from out-of town included: Mr. and Mrs. Horace Crawford with their sons, Carlyle and William, all of Ew ing: Mr and Mrs. John Crawford and son, Ray, Mr. and Mrs. Fritz Purcell and family, Mr. and Mrs. Clvde A. Crawford and family, all of Buffalo. Wvo.; Mr. and Mrs. Phillip Mueller of Clearmont. Mrs. Purcell and Mrs. Mueller are granddaughters and C. A. Crawford is a grandson of the honoree. Otners present mciuaea ivir. and Mrs. Arnold Crawford, Mr. and Mrs. Donald Crawford and Shirlev, Mr. and Mrs. John Nel son, Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Nelson, the men in this group all being grandsons of the honored guest; Mr. and Mrs. Torvus Thompson, Mr. and Mrs. Timothy Scanlon and Mr. and Mrs. George Good man (the three women are grand daughters) and families of all seven couples besides Mr. and Mrs. Coy Nelson. Three of Mrs. Crawford’s sons, Harvey of Tacoma, Wash., Ger ald of Boise. Ida., and Wilmer of Lynch, and their families were unable to attend the dinner be cause of distance. Mrs. Crawford was born near O’Neill. She married here and continued to make her home in this part of the state until she went to Sheridan to be near four of her children. Quilting is Mrs. Crawford’s hobby. Since going to Sheridan she has made 25 quilts. Some of these she has pieced and others she has embroidered, besides do in the quilting on all 25. Mr. and Mrs. William Schmohr visited Mrs. Elizabeth Nichols Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Leigh Reynoldson were in Norfolk Monday on busi ness.
