1 80 Served During Blue-Gold Banquet One hundred eighty persons, including Cub scouts, their fa thers, mothers, brothers, sisters and leaders, were served at Mon day night’s blue-and-gold ban quet held at the American Legion auditorium. Leaders whose dens participat ed are Mrs. Melvin Marcellus Mrs. Grant Peacock, Elroy Lieb, Mrs. Wayne Baker and Mrs Har ry Larson. In charge of the banquet were Mrs. Leonard Bazelman, Mrs. Verne Reynoldson, Mrs. Marcel lus Schaaf and Mrs. Robert De voy. Sick & Injured O’NEILL—Mr. and Mrs. Glen Hull brought “Grandma” Sarah Hull home from the Lynch hos pital Tuesday afternoon, Febru ary 21. She has been suffering from pneumonia, and is “improv ed”. . . Danny Schaaf, 8, son of Mr. and Mrs. M. Schaaf, suffered an arm fracture in two places Friday night while playing. He was taken to the hospital. . . Dr. O. W. French was dismissed Tuesday from St. Anthonys’ hos pital and is being cared for at his home. . . Mr. and Mrs. Edward Campbell and Mrs. Frank Froe • 1 i c h returned home Saturday from the Mayo clinic in Rochest er, Minn. Mr. Froelich had sub mitted to major surgery Friday at the clinic. His condition is “good.” . . Mary Elizebeth Gatz on Saturday submitted to a tonsil ectomy at St. Anthony’s hospital. . . . Leon Sargent went to Oma ha Wednesday, February 22, for a medical checkup. He returned Saturday. . . Thomas Greene, who has been hospitalized in Sioux City, is “much improved ” He is expected to return home this week. . Mrs. Genn Cass suf fered second and third degree burns about her face and head in a gas oven explosion at her home Tuesday morning, February 21. RIVERSIDE — Mrs. George Montgomery took Mrs. Lorraine Montgomery to a doctor in Ne ligh Friday. . . Neal Scheer, who has been attending a trade school in Milford, is helping at home while his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Scheer, are helping care for their son, Lee, who is critic ally ill in the Plainview hospital. . . . Willie Shrader’s small son, David, was able to come home from the hospital Saturday. He wais taken back to a doctor Mon day for a checkup. . . No classes were held at Riverside district on Monday as the teacher, Miss Jeanne Welke, was il with influ enza. . . There has been much sickness among the youngsters the past week.. Steve Miller was out of school from stomach flu; Dale Miler, small son of Johnny Miller, was taken to St. Anthony’s hospital in O’Neill Saturday suf fering from ear infection; Greg ory Vandersnick has been sick with a cold. . . Jackie Fry was sick Thursday and Friday. PAGE—Mrs. Harold Kelly has heen ill for the past two weeks With influenza and sinus infec tion. . . Mrs. Gene Mudloff re quired several stitches to close a wound in her hand made when she attempted to divide a pint container of frozen oysters with a butcher knife. . . Mrs. R. D. Copes is recovering from her recent ill ness. She is unable to be out. . . Measles are prevalent. Children in the Kennth Heiss, Neven Ickes, jr., Soren Sorensen, jr., and Rev. Lisle Mewmaw homes, among others, have been ill. CHAMBERS — Donald Hoge suffered a relapse of mumps and has been very sick at his home in Chambers the past week. . . Mr. ani Mrs. L. V. Cooper and Mrs. C. A Tibbets drove to Neligh on Friday, February 24, to see their aunt, Mrs. C. J. Barnum, who was reported “not So well.” . . AMELIA — Cynthia Dierking was ill with meas’es this week. . . Don Adams, Cheryl and Roger Barnes were having a siege of chickenpox thisVweek. . . Louis Burgett and daughter, Vi ona, and son, Wayne, and Mrs. Verle David drove to Kearney Friday afternoon bringing Mrs. Burgett home from the hospital there on Saturday. VENUS—Joe Achenbach, who suffered a stroke some time ago, is a patient at the Creighton hos pital. His condition is “about the same. Mr. Achenbach has been living with his sister, Mrs. Clara Groeling. They moved from the , Venus neighborhood about a year ago to Creighton LYNCH—Joe Rihanek returned home this week from a Rochester, Minn., hospital where he had un dergone major surgery. . . Mem bers of the Elmo Barnes family have had the pink eye. . . Mrs. William Wendt of Gross is a pa tient in the O’Neill hospital. EMMET—Graydon Bates has the measles. . . Mary Richards was sick with flu. . . Ruth Schaaf was sick with flu Monday., . . Roy Fox was sick Monday. . . Linda Bates is sick with mea sles this week. DELOIT—Mrs. Kathleen Kall hoff yras a patient at the Ante lope Memorial hospital recently. She is a former resident of the Deloit community. TOMLINSON FILES Arthur Tomlinson of Inman, a republican currently serving his first term as Second district su pervisor, has filed for nominaticn for reelection. Recently he was hospitalized at Rochester, Minn. This marks the only filing during the past two weeks at the office of County Clerk Kenneth War . ' ing. Theme was George Washington’s birth day and about 70 people were present. The evening’s entertainment was a talk, “George Washington —the Man” by Rev. J.
