Gambles Bring in New Family
Mr. and Mrs. William Mack, jr., and daughter, Teresa, (above)
are arriving in O’Neill today (Thursday) from Des Moines, la. Mr.
Mack has been with Gambles in Des Moines for the past several
years. He will manage the clothing floors of the O’Neill store with
Frank McKenny, assisting him in this capacity. Henry Lofflin, store
manager, said “Gambles in O’Neill proudly announces the ap
pointment of Bill Mack as manager of our clothing floors. Due to
the increase in volume enjoyed by the clothing departments, more
manpower has proven to be a necessity.” Th Mack family has not
yet made housing arrangements and they are anxious to locate a
nice home.

were married Monday afternoon,
February 20, at First Presbyterian
church at Laike Andes, S.D. Dr.
Leslie B. Lewis officiated.
Attendants were brother and
sister-in-law of the bride, Mr. and
Mrs. Verlin Peterson of Bone
steel, S.D. Also attending the
wedding were the bride’s parents.
After the wedding the party
had cake and coffee at the Verlin
Peterson home and a wedding
supper was served at t*ee Wee’s
cafe at Bonesteel, S.D.
The bride appeared in a beige
suit with blue accessories and
wore a corsage of pink carna
tions. The bridesmaid wore a blue
suit with beige accessories and a
corsage of red and white carna
tions. The bride’s mother wore a
navy blue dress and a pink and
blue corsage.
The bride is a graduate of
Butte high school with the class
of 1954 and since then has been
employed by the extension office
at Butte.
The bridegroom was graduated
with the class of 1951 and spent
two years in the army, a year of
which he spent in Germany. He
was discharged in 1955 and has
been associated with his father in
the earth moving business at
Butte. The newlyweds will make
their home at Butte after a short
honeymoon.

The WSCS met Wednesday,
February 22, with Mrs. Vern Sa
geser. There were 20 members
and one visitor present. Mrs. Etta
Ott read the scripture lesson and
Mrs. Alice Widman presented the
lesson. It was decided to serve
dinner to the public sometime in
April. Mrs. Alice Prewitt and
Mrs. George Fullerton served the
luncheon.

watching television at the S. C.

will be conducted at 10 a.m., to
day (Thursday) from St. Boni
face Catholic church for Adolph
J. Tielke, 64, who died unex
pectedly of a heart attack at
12:20 a.m., Tuesday, February
28. He had suffered a heart ail
ment several years ago.
Rev. A. J. Paschang will offi
ciate and burial will be in St.
Boniface cemetery.
The late Mr. Tielke was
born November 23, 1891, at
St. Helena, Cedar county—a
son of Anton and Teresa
Tielke.
He was reared there and mar
ried Hildegard Becker.
The family farmed near Stu
art for a number of years. Later,
Mr. Tielke was a bookkeeper
and was employed by several
different firms.
Survivors include: Widow —
Hildegard; sons — Gregory and
Vern, both of Atkinson, Jack
and Robert, both of Stuart, and
Howard of Sioux City; daugh
ters— Mrs. Bernice Addison of

Mr. and Mrs. E. L. Miner, Mr.
and Mrs. Dale Revell and Mr. and

Farms dispersion and Beerman
production sale of Aberdeen-An
gus at the Beerman farm near
Dakota City Tuesday.
The Revells purchased three
heifers and one bull. M&M ranch,
owned by E. L. and R. D. Miner,
purchased a cow with bull calf
at side. The calf was sired by
Eileenmere 1257 and is a half
brother of a large number of the
bulls and females shown in the
J. Garret Tolan show string of
1955.
A member of the Holt County
Aberdeen-Angus association de
scribed these cattle as a fine ad
dition to Holt county herds, say
ing they were glad to have them
brought here.
Top bull at the Tuesday sale
brought $2,150 and top female,
$575.
Mrs. Patrick J. Donohue of
Bonesteel, S.D., came Wednesday,
February 22, and is visiting in
the homes of her daughters, Mrs.

Miss Mavis Kay Strong,
daughter of Mr and Mrs. Gil
bert E. Strong, became the bride
of John E. Plessel, son of Mr
and Mrs Roy Plessel, on Wed
nesday, February 22, at a 2:30
p.m., ceremony at the First
Methodist church of O’Neill.
Rev. J. LaVern Jay perform
ed the double-ring ceremony.
A. E. Bowen was pianist and
Miss Patricia Grenier was so
loist.
The bride appeared in a navy, ,
blue suit with white accessories.
She carried a white Bible cov
ered with pink rose buds.
The matroi*-of-honor, Mrs.
Harmon Grunke, sister of the
bridegroom, wore a tan suit with
white accessories and wore a
corsage of pink rose buds.
The bridegrom and his at
tendant, Harmon Grunke, were
attired in gray suits and wore
white carnation boutonnieres.
The bride’s mother wore an
orchid dress with pink acces
sories and the bridegroom’s
mother wore navy with black
accessories. Both wore corsages
of pink carnations.
A reception was held follow
ing the ceremony at the home of
the bride’s parents. Miss Evelyn
Plessel, sister of the bridegroom,
and Mrs. Emma Jardee, aunt of
the bride, presided at the serv
ing table. The bride’s table was
centered with a four-tier cake,
baked and decorated by Mrs.
Byron Grenier. Miss Barbara
Strong, cousin of the bride, was
in charge of the guest book.
The bride was graduated from
the O’Neill public school in 1955.
She has been employed by Shel
hamer’s Jack and Jill store. The
bridegroom has served two years
in the armed services and is
employed at Marcellus Imple
ments.
Mr. Plessel and his bride will
reside in O’Neill.

for Marchel DeBolt, 79, of Scotts
bluff, who died Tuesday, Febru
ary 21, were held there on Friday
and at 2:30 p.m., Saturday in the
Church of God at Bassett with
burial in the Bassett cemetery.

Ralph of Scottsbluff and Walter
