Present Service
This was youth fellowship week
in the Presbyterian church. In its
observance, the young people
presented the service Sunday
morning in Sunday-school and
during the regular worship. The
sermon was divided into three
sections and was given by Gordon
Fox and the Misses Sylvia Harder
and Judy Liddy.
On Wednesday evening, Feb
ruary 1, the young people were
honored at a banquet given for
them by the session. Speaker for
the evening was Stanley Lambert
of Chambers. The theme of the
week was “Christian Citizenship.
This is an annual affair and
has been observed in a similar
manner for the past several yers.

insurance business. The Sorensens
were presented with a farewell
gift. A no-host lunch was served.
Mr. and Mrs. Merwyn French,
jr., and Stephanie went to Oak
land on Sunday afternoon, where
they visited her parents, Mr. and
Mrs. Orville Olson. On Monday,
Merwyn accompanied Mr. Olson
to Sioux City where he had cattle

spent at cards.
The Page Center held an exten
sion leadership meeting at the
home of Mrs. Edgar Stauffer on
Friday afternoon. The February
lesson will be on deep fat frying.
Leaders in attendance were Mes
dames Dale Stauffer, Norman
Saltz, Harold Freemeyer, William
Sorensen, Merwyn French, sr.,
and Jesse Kelly.
The members of the EMC Pitch
club were guests of Mr.'and Mrs.
Clarence Stevens on Friday eve
ning. Those attending were Mr.
and Mrs. Otto Matschullat, Mr.
and Mrs. Anton Nissen and Mr.
and Mrs. Clarence Dobbins. The
hostess served lunch.
Mr. and Mrs. Allen Haynes en
tertained their son, Lawrence, and
family and their daughter, Miss
Viola, all of O’Neill, on Sunday.
They all attended the golden
wedding celebration of Mrs.
Haynes’s uncle and aunt, Mr. and
Mrs. Anton Nissen, in the after
noon.
Mr. and Mrs. Frank Beelaert
were Friday guests in the home
of her uncle and aunt, Mr. and
Mrs. Allen Haynes.
