r ® These are the greatest money-savers of. the past eight years! I Peddle Peanuts for Use in Polio Fight EMMET— Mrs. Robert Cole is chairman for the polio drive in Emmet this year. Peanuts were sold Saturday and Sunday, the proceeds to go to the polio fund. Bob Perry, Jean Foreman, Art Wills, Ronnie Rich ards and Jackie Cole helped Mrs. Cole with the sale of the peanuts. More peanuts will be sold to ben efit the polio drive Saturday and Sunday, January 14 and 15. Other Emmet News Mrs. Arthur Humpal of Atkin son was an all-day guest of Mrs. Robert Cole. Last Thursday eve ning guests were Mrs. Guy Cole and Mrs. Pearl McGrew of Sew ard. Mrs. Helen Oberle of Medicine Lake, Mont., arrived Tuesday, January 3, to visit her mother, Mrs. R. B. Earl Schlotfelds Moving to Lyons CELIA—Friends and neighbors of the Earl Schlotfeld family met at the Ray Pease home Wednes day evening, January 4, for a farewell party for the Schlotfelds, who have been working for the Albert Johnson ranch the past few years and living on the J. V. Johnson ranch. Others present were Mr. and Mrs. Ed Bausch, Mr. and Mrs. Hans Lauridsen and sons, Isla Ruda, Jim Lauridsen, Stanley and Albert Johnson, Mr. and Mrs. John Sicheneder and Gail, Alex Forsythe, Victor Frickel and children, Mr. and Mrs. Milton McKathnie and family, Mr. and Mrs. John Schwindt and Venita. The evening was spent playing cards. Sandwiches, cake, ice cream and coffee were served. The Schlotfelds left for Lyons, where they will make their home. He is a disbursing clerk. New Officers Preside at Council Meeting The Holt county home exten sion council met Tuesday after noon at the courthouse assembly room. The meeting was called by the new county chairman, Mrs. Oliver Ross of O’Neill. Roll was called by Mrs. A. T. Crumly of Page, newly - elected secretary. A treasurer’s report was given. The auditing committee report ed books were satisfactory. Plans were discussed for next year’s work, but nothing definite was decided.
