Lee Hunter Dies at Newcastle, Wyo. PAGE—Vemie Hunter receiv ed word that his brother, Lee, died Tuesday, November 15, at his home at Newcastle, Wyo. Death was caused by a heart ail ment which he had suffered for some time. The late Lee Hunter was rear ed at Page, the son of Mr. and Mrs. George Hunter. He was the postmaster at Newcastle. Lee was married to Ollie Wa gers. To this union two sons were bom — Gordon and Glenn. He „ later married Tressa Townsend, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Townsend. Two children from this marriage survive, Nordyce of Newcastle and Kenneth of Scotts bluff. « ‘Other survivors include: Broth ers-^Hugh of Ft. Collins, Colo., Selah of Bell Flower, Calif., Lloyd of Hanford, Calif, Ells worth of Scottsbluff and Vernie ' of Page. Funeral arrangements pended word from distant relatives. Rites will be held at Newcastle and burial will be there. Sorensens Note 40th Anniversary PAGE — Mr. and Mrs. Soren Sorensen began their 40th wed ding celebration by attending ser vices at the Methodist church. All of their sons and daughters and their families, except Robert and Mrs. Eddy (Shirley) Connery, were present. Robert is stationed at Camp Campbell, Ky. They were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Nissen and family for a no-host dinner. Both have been employed at the Braddock locker plant and Mrs. Sorensen has served as cook at the school and in a local cafe. Mr. Sorensen is fond of horses. INMAN—Mrs. John M. Galla gher has been a patient at St. Anthony’s hospital in O’Neill for several days. She is “improving.” . . . Mrs. A. N. Butler writes that l er husband will undergo sur gery at the Independence sani torium on Monday morning at Independence, Mo. . . Mr. and Mrs. Fred Moore took Mrs. Moore’s sister, Mrs. J. W. Jones, and son, Ronald, of Gregory, S. D., to Rochester, Minn., on Mon day where Ronald will go through the Mayo clinic there. RIVERSIDE — Mr. and Mrs. Richard Napier spent Saturday night at the Duane Jensen home in Newman Grove. Anna Marie Jensen had a tonsillectomy a week ago. . . Mr. and Mrs. George Montgomery returned home Wed nesday evening, November 9, from Grand Island. George was a patient in the Veterans’ hospital for two weeks. He is much im proved and doctors put him on a diet. Mrs. Montgomery visited friends and relatives near there. EMMET — Mrs. Joe Babl and Cecelia, Mr. 'and Mrs. Herman Janzing and Ronnie and Joyce went to Omaha Sunday where they visited G. D. Janzing, who is a patient in the St. Joseph’s hos pital. They also visited Miss Rose Mary Babl, who is employed there. PAGE — Mrs. Rollie Snell fell Monday evening as she turned away from the telephone. She struck the edge of the sewing1 machine, cracking or breaking some ribs. . . Ralph Prill was tak en to a Norfolk hospital early Wednesday morning. CHAMBERS — Merle Gross nicklaus, young son of Mr. and Mrs. Merlin Grossnicklaus, brokf his leg while playing at his home Saturday, November 12. The fracture was set and put in a cast at St. Anthony’s and he returned home. ATKINSON—Glen Sprague re turned Friday night from an Dmaha hospital. . . Mrs. Anna Dickover became ill Tuesday light and was taken by ambu lance to the hospital here. LYNCH — William Mahlendorf underwent surgery on his eye at the Veterans hospital in Grand Island Wednesday, November 9. Mrs. Mahlendorf spent several days there with him. DORSEY — Mr. ana ivirs. re ward Carson left early Monday morning, November 7, for Oma ha where they planned to have a medical checkup. STAR — Judy Juracek came home Friday from St. Anthony’s hospital in O’Neill where she had been a patient for several days. SOUTHFORK — Cliff Fleming had a tumor removed from his shoulder at St. Anthony’s Friday. Youngsters Inspect Magician’s Prop This group of youngsters surged forward to inspect a huge box used by Magician Tom Crot ser in connection with the Junior Chamber of Commerce-sponsored stage revue here a fortnight ago. Wood received the traveling award. Mrs. Clarence Stevens will be the November 18 hostess. Sgt. and Mrs. Richard L. Bux ton went to Omaha November 4 where they will visit her parents for 10 days. Burial Here for Retired Engineer Orley Beaman Nelson, 67, re tired engineer on the Chicago & North Western railroad, died Sunday, November 6, at his home in Long Pine. He was reared at Missouri Val ley, la., frequently visited his uncle, William Nelson, at Spen cer. He and his brother, Charles, went to work for the C&NW. The late Mr. Nelson worked 45 years for the railroad on the Omaha Chadron line. North Platte January 3, 1938. One son, Blair, is deceased. Survivors include: Son— Har land of Sioux City; three sisters. Burial was in Prospect Hill cemetery at O’Neill with grave side Independent Order of Odd Fellows rites. Following the burial luncheon was served at the L. D. Putnam home in O’Neill.
