Nuptial Rites Here
Miss Monica Spiecker of Will
mette, HI., daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. S. W. Spiecker of Willmette,
and John J. Harrington of O’
Neill, son of Mr. and Mrs. John
J. Harrington of O’Neill, were
married Saturday, November 12,
at St. Patrick’s Catholic church
in O’Neill. Rev. Thomas Hitch
performed the ceremony.
The bride was given in marri
age by Joseph Fraber of Omaha,
brother - in - law of the bride
groom. She wore a white wool
knit suit with white accessories
and carried a white prayer book,
a gift from the bridegroom. Her
corsage was of white carnations.
Miss Marlene Harrington of
O’Neill, sister of the bridegroom,
served as maid-of-honor. She
wore a pastel blue wool jersey
dress with a pink carnation cor
sage. Francis Rohde of Spencer,
cousin of the bridegroom, served
as bestman.
Miss Rita Gilg sang “Ave Ma
ria,” accompanied by Sister M.
Michael at the organ.
Following the ceremony a din
ner was held at the Town House
for 25 guests.
For traveling, Mrs. Harrington
chose a cocoa brown wool knit
suit. After a wedding trip to
Omaha, the couple will be at
home in O’Neill.
Mr. Harrington attended the
University of Miami, Miami, Fla.,
was graduated from Carol Ga
bles, Fla., in 1951, where he re
ceived his bachelor of arts de
gree. He attended law school at
the University of Miami for three
years.

tives here for the wedding were:

Fraber of Omaha; Mr. and Mrs.

R. J. Rohde, all of Spencer.
Mrs. Howard Peters entertain
ed at dinner in honor of her hus
bands’ birthday anniversary on
Sunday. Guests were Mr. and
Mrs. Fred Snowardt and family,
Mr. and Mrs. William Anderson,
Mr. and Mrs. Owen Parkinson
and family, all of O’Neill, and
Mr. and Mrs. Harry Schlote and
family of Randolph.

Mrs. Livelle Butterfield enter
tained a group of children at her
home Monday afternoon after
school in honor of her daughter,
Lorraine, who was celebrating
her birthday anniversary. Games
were enjoyed by the group and
Lorraine received many gifts.
Mrs. Butterfield served refresh
ments.
Arbutus Rebekah lodge met
on Wednesday evening, Novem
ber 9, at the I OOF hall for a reg
ular session. Karl Keyes, noble
grand, was in charge. Mrs. James
McMahan and Miss Elsie Krue
ger were on the entertainment
committee. This was the annual
“brothers’ night” so the refresh
ments were served by K. F.
Smith, John Brunekhorst, F. E.
Keyes and Karl L. Keyes.
The WSCS met last Thursday
afternoon at the Maxcy Memori
al addition for a regular session.
Mrs. Melvin Lorenz presided.
Hostesses were Mrs. James Cov
entry and Mrs. Albert Reynolds.
Refreshments were served.
Leslie Tompkins of Kelso,
Wash., arrived Wednesday morn
ing, November 9, and spent until
Friday morning visiting his
brother and sister-in-law, Mr.
and Mrs. L. R. Tompkins. Friday
morning, Mr. and Mrs. Tompkins
took him to Albion where he will
visit a few days. He expects to
be back in Kelso for ThanKsgiv
ing.
George Conard has returned
home from Empire, Wash., where
he had spent several weeks vis
iting at the home of his brother
and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs.
Edward Conard, and family.
Fred Schaum of Elk Point,
S.D., came last Thursday and
spent several days visiting in the
home of his son-in-law and
daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Ivan
Couch, and family.
Mr. and Mrs. Bill Morsbach
and family of Clearwater spent
Sunday visiting in the home of
Mr. Morsbach’s mother, Mrs. Eliz
abeth Morsbach.
The commission on education
of the Methodist Sunday - school
met Thursday evening in the
Floyd Keyes home. Plans were
made for a Christmas program
on Friday, December 23. A fam
ily fellowship supper is planned
for Sunday evening, November
20.
Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Tompkins
entertained Mrs. Grace New
. house and the members of the
kindergarten and first grade at
their country home after school
on Monday. The affair was in
honor of their son, Mark Allan .
who was celebrating his birthday
anniversary. Mr. and Mrs. L. r.
Tompkins transported the chil
dren and remained for the party.
Allan received many gifts from
his friends. Mrs. Tompkins serv
ed refreshments to the group.
Herbert Nielsen returned Sun
day from Wyoming and South
Dakota, where he had spent sev
eral days visiting.
