Sick & Injured PAGE — Harvey Cullen, who contracted spinal menengitis about six weeks ago, was taken to O’Neill to St. Anthony’s hos pital Saturday with a brain ab scess. On Sunday he was trans ferred to an Omaha hospital where he submitted to surgery that evening. His wife and sister, Mrs. Dale Stukey of Norfolk, ac companied him in the ambulance. Another sister, Mrs. Harold Heiss, and his son, Dale Cullen, also went to Omaha to be with him... The Joe Coenan and John Soren sen families were victims of a stomach flu the past week. . . Ernest McIntosh of Wakefield, son-in-law of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Wilson, is hospitalized in the Methodist hospital at Sioux City with a half-broken neck. He has worn a brace but it has been found necessary to place his neck in a cast. He was loading hogs for shipment by truck and pipped and received the severe neck in jury. . . Mrs. Arnold Tikalsky sub mitted to surgery Thursday morning at the Lutheran hospital, Norfolk. Mr. Tikalsky and sons visited her Sunday and reported her condition as satisfactory. . . The Roy Hansen family went to Omaha Wednesday evening, Oc tober 26, where they visited rela tives until Sunday, when they vis ited his mother at the Lutheran hospital at Norfolk. Her condition is improved but she will be hos pitalized for some time. . . Mrs. Robert Van Horn and infant son, Alan Mark, returned to their home at Page Sunday from Sioux City where they had been hos- j pitalized. . . AMELIA — Mr. and Mrs. George Fullerton, Dale and Phyl lis drove to Sioux City to vis it George Maple in a hospital. The Maples were injured in a car wreck early in the fall and Mr. Maple has been hospitalized with a severe back injury since that time. Mrs. Maple is the for mer Donna Fullerton, a niece of Mr. Fullerton. . . Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Waldo went to Omaha Monday. Lloyd had a medical appointment Tuesday and ex pected to enter the hospital on Wednesday to undergo throat surgery. He will be hospitalized four or five days. RIVERSIDE—Mr. and Mrs. D. E. Conner were in Norfolk Wed nesday visiting their son, Or ville. He has been under the doctor’s care. . . Mrs. Robert Montgomery was a guest at the Seek and Share project club which was held at the Don Larson home Tuesday after noon. David Shrader had misfor tune of sitting in some Clorox on the floor, burning his legs. His burns are nearly healed now. . . Clay Babcock was taken sick ear ly Wednesday, October 26. His condition is about the same. O’NEILL—Mrs. Maggie Siders called her son, Everett, long dis tance on Monday. She learned he had been released from the hos pital at Douglas, Wyo., and trans ferred to the hospital at Casper, Wyo. He is under the care of a bone specialist because his collar bone has not been healing satis factorily following a tractor acci dent in which he was involved three weens ago. Everett is ex pected to return to his home in O’Neill soon. CHAMBERS—Sandra Klabenes of Chambers entered St. An thony’s hospital in O’Neill Sun day. . . Mrs. Kenneth Barthel is a patient in St. Anthony’s hospi tal. . . Friends and relatives at Chambers have learned that Mrs. Stanley Jarman of Ft. Collins, Colo., formerly of Chambers, re cently underwent major surgery. She is now home and is reported to be “recovering satisfactorily.” ATKINSON—Mrs. D. F. Scott entered Our Lady of Lourdes hos pital in Norfolk Tuesday, Octo ber 25, for medical treatment. She came home Friday. . . Mr. and Mrs. Alex Cleary, who had been in Rochester, Minn., where Mr. Cleary underwent surgery, returned home last Thursday.
