Ewing News Mr. and Mrs. L. A. Hobbs were host* at a 1 o’clock dinner on Sunday when all members of I their family were present. They were the William Hobbs, John Turay and Ed Yelli families, all of Ewing, and Pvt. and Mrs. Mick Hobs’ mother, Mrs. Rose Harding, Hobs’ mother, Mrs. Rose Harding, and her daughter, Mrs. Lois Hartman, and daughter, Sharon, of O’Neill. Private Hobbs, who has been home on furlough, will leave this week. Twelve children were after school guests on Tuesday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ray Funk. The occasion was in honor of their daughter, Mary Karen, who was celebrating her ninth birth day anniversary. Games were played and prizes given. Refresh ments were served by Mrs. Funk. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Decker of Omaha were guests Monday at the Ray Funk home. On Sunday evening, Rev. Peter Burke and the Ray Funk family enjoyed a dinner at St. Francis church, Neligh. Mr. and Mrs. Dewitt Gunter were Sunday evening guests at the Ed Urban home. Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Hoag and son of Omaha were weekend guests at the home of their par ents, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Hoag and Mr. and Mrs. Perry Saiser. Mr. and Mrs. Ed Hoag have as their guests this week their son in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Herley, and children of Washington, D.C. The Hoags and their guests were entertained at dinner Monday by Mrs. Jessie. Mr. and Mrs. Gene Strong and family spent the weekend at O’ Neill visiting with relatives. On Thursday evening, Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Doud and daughter, Shirley, were 6 o’clock dinner guests at the home of her aunt, Mrs. Lillie Myers at Clearwater. Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Latzel and daughter came home Monday from a trip into South Dakota and Omaha where they visited his brothers and families. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Billings made a business trip to Neligh and Oakdale on Friday.
