The group attended church ser vices at the Methodist church and had dinner and open-house in the basement in the afternoon. Present were Mrs. Lloyd (Zela) McDowell; Mrs. R. L. (Ethel) Larry of Minnesota; her daughter, Mrs. Maxine McMillan, and daughter of Minnesota; Mema Jarvis and wife of San Bruno, Calif., who flew to Boulder, Colo., and accompanied Mr. and Mrs. Ralton Jarvis and family to At kinson; Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Staley of North Dakota; Mrs. Omer (Melba) Poynts and her daugh ter, Mrs. Mark Hendricks, and family of Atkinson; Mr. and Mrs. Jarvis McDowell and family of Lincoln and Mr. and Mrs. Tabor Kelley and daughters (children of Mr. and Mrs. L. Miss Joann Beed Weds Stuart Man CHAMBERS—Miss Joann Beed, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ray mond Beed of Chambers, and Dennis Kaup, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ben Kaup of Stuart, were united in marriage at St. Patrick’s Cath olic church at O’Neill Saturday, August 6, at a 9 a.m., double-ring ceremony performed by Rev. Thomas Hitch. Two baskets of pink gladioli decorated the altar. The bride, given in marriage by her father, appeared in a floor length gown of tulle over bridal satin. The bodice featured three quarter length sleeves and a Peter Pan collar. She carried a bouquet of red roses tied with white rib bons and wore a fingertip veil held in place by an orange blos som tiara. The maid-of-honor, Miss Cleone Beed, sister of the bride, wore a pink taffeta floor-length gown. Kay Eisenhower, bridesmaid, wore a floor-length blue taffeta gown. Both dresses featured three quarter length sleeves and Peter Pan collars. Both girls wore pearl head bands and carried bouquets of white chrysanthemums. Tommy Kaup of Stuart, brother of the bridegroom, served as best man. Leo O’Malley of Chambers and Delbert Baum of Stuart were ushers. Diane Hoffman was flower girl. Miss Patricia Mullen sang “On This Day” and “Ave Maria.” Following the ceremony, a breakfast was given at the M&M cafe in O’Neill for 15 guests. The bride’s table was centered by a four-tier wedding cake. A dinner was served for 76 members of the immediate fam ily at the Legion hall in Cham bers followed by a reception for 100 guests in the afternoon. For traveling, the bride wore a pink suit with white accessories. After a wedding trip to the Black Hills, the couple will be at home in Stuart. Mrs. Kaup is a graduate of Chambers high school and for the past three years has taught in a rural school near Stuart. Mr. Kaup was graduated from Stuart high school and has been engaged in farming. Chambers News Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Larson and two children of Page were in Chambers Monday. Mr. and Mrs. Sewell Johnson and family of Atkinson visited in the L. V. Cooper home Sunday August 8. Mr. and Mrs. LeRoy Holcomb and boys spent last week vaca tioning in Montana. They report ed the weather there as being "pleasantly cool” with plenty of rain. Mr. and Mrs. Bonness and daughter of Gasport, Ind., were overnight guests of Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Whitaker on Wednesday, July 27. Pfc. Howard Beed arrived home Thursday, August 4, from the re ceiving station at Laplala, Md., where he is stationed, for a 10 day visit with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Beed. Mr. and Mrs. D. E. Gillette and son, Darrell Lee, left Thursday for Glenwood Springs, Colo., to visit his brother-in-law and sis ter, Mr. and Mrs. A1 Zweible, and family. Buyer interest was much im proved over a week ago and all classes of stockers and feed ers shared in a price improve ment of 50 cents a hundred. Cows and butcher cattle 25 to 50 cents higher. Quality gen erally was below la$t week’s offering. Good quality steer calves brought from $19.00 to $20.50 a hunndred. Better kinds of yearling steers from $18.00 to $19.50. Feeder heifers and heifer calves generally from $15.00 to $17.25. Canner and cutter cows from $8.00 to $9.50 cwt. Better beef kinds at $9.75 to $11.25.
