Entries for Class J are limited to boys and girls enrolled in 4-H clubs in Holt county. 2. All entries in this class will clear through the county agent’s office. All entries shall be made through the local club leader or fair superintendents. 3. Exhibits must represent the exhibitor’s own work ac complished since the last fair. 4. 4-H club members may show in 4-H club class without purchasing an exhibitor’s ticket but an exhibitor’s ticket will be required to exhibit in open class. 5. Only articles mentioned in the premium list will be eligible to receive premiums. 6. No premium money will be paid by the management until the 4-H final reports are receiv ed in the county agent’s office. 7. In case of only one entry, a second prize shall be awarded except on specific directions from the judge. 8. All possible diligence and care will be used to prevent loss or injury to exhibits, but the management of the fair will in no way be responsible should loss or injury occur. 9. All livestock to be in place and ready for judging Thursday, August 18, by 9:00 a.m. Agricultural, home economics and all other 4-H exhibits en tries to be entered and in place by 6:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 17. Judging to take place on Thursday, August 18. Judging of individual and team demonstrations, dress re vue, judging contests, etc., to take place on Thursday, August, 18. LOT 1 — INDIVIDUAL AND TEAM DEMONSTRATIONS Thursday, August 18, 9:30 a.m. A team demonstration shall consist of two members of the same standard boys* or girl’s 4-H club in which the record of each member is up-to-date at fair time. Individual demonstra tions may be given by any in dividual in their own project. Demonstrations should not be less than 10 minutes nor more than 30 minutes in length. In dividual demonstrations not less than 5 minutes nor more than 20. Judges’ questions only will be scored in competitive demonstra tions. (Talk is to be on any 4-H related sub ject.) LOT 2 Livestock Showman Contest Any member showing either dairy of beef animals, swine or sheep is eligible to enter this contest regardless of placing. Judging will be done on the basis of ability to fit and show the animal. Blue $2; red $1.50; white/$1. All members showing will be judged for showmanship while they are showing their livestock. Finals will be run last to deter mine the winners. Showmanship contest will be set up in swine and sheep divi son if show warrants. Blue $1.50; red, $1; white .75. Tractor Driving Contest For 4-H members. Judged on proper j handling of tractor, safety precautions and mainten nance. Entries are limited to tractor club members. Livestock Judging All livestock will be judged and placed according to the Danish system, which is blue ribbon, red ribbon, and white ribbon groups. In addition, a pur ple group will be selected from the blue awards in each class if the judge feels the show war rants. LOT 3—CATTLE Only two animals can be shown in any class by a club member. Any club member hav ing more will have to choose the animals to be exhibited. Hay and space will be furnished free for the calves owned by club members that are not to be ex hibited. Only the calves orgin ally eartagged or recorded may be shown. Any class of market cattle may be divided by weight if show J warrants. Entries may be made in ad vance or on Wednesday, August 17, with Henry Wood of Ewing. All animals must be in place by 9:00 a.m.; Thursday. Special Awards There will be special awards to high placing Hereford animals. This is furnished by Holt County Hereford Breeder’s association. Holt County Angus associa tion will award plaques to high placing Angus. Fifty dollars in special prizes in 4-H dairy class will be given by the Ewing Co-op Creamery. Breeding Heifers Only heifers that have been tattooed may be shown—must be registered or eligible for reg istry.
