class had their annual picnic in
the park Sunday. There were
about 25 in attendance.
Miss Suzanne Mudloff arrived
Wednesday from Omaha for a
visit with her mother, Mrs. Cath
erine Mudloff and her brothers,
Tony, Dan and Gene and their
families.
Alvin Clyde of Sioux Falls, S.
D., came Sunday to his grand
mothers, Mrs. Fanny Stewarts,
where he met the Fattig family
of North Platte where his wife
and family have been visiting.
His grandmother returned to
Sioux Falls with the Clyde fam
ily for a week’s visit.

The American Legion baseball
program started off Sunday af
ternoon with two games. O’Neill
Midgets and Juniors played At
kinson Midgets and Juniors.
The Midgets lost to the Atkin
son team in the first game, 3-1.
The Juniors won the nightcap
from Atkinson, 9-6. The Midgets
played five innings and the Jun
iors went seven.

They returned Saturday. Mrs.
Bruhn is “improving” rapidly. . .

leased Monday from St. An
thony’s hospital where she had
been a patient about a month. . .
John Robert Richter, small son of
Mr. and Mrs. Charles Richter,
jr., was dismissed Tuesday from
St. Anthony’s hospital — his leg
ptill in a cast. He was injured two
months ago when struck by a car
. . . Mrs. Esther Tomlinson is still
in the Lynch hospital where she
has been for several weeks re
ceiving medical treatment. She is
showing “some improvement.”
. . . Mother M. Bertrand is “much
improved” at St. Anthony’s hos
pital. . . Miss Bernice Kirwan,
longtime housekeeper for Very
Rev. Timothy O’Sullivan, is in
critical condition in a Kearney
hospital.

Mrs. A1 Anthony submitted to
surgery Wednesday and is a pa
tient at the Lutheran hospital at
Norfolk. . . Mrs. R. F. Parks re
turned Friday, June 3, from St.
Anthony’s hospital where she
was a surgery patient, and is re
cuperating at her home. Her con
dition is satisfactory. . . Mr. and
Mrs. Dale Matschullat went to
Norfolk Saturday to visit his sis
ter, Mrs. A1 Anthony of Bloom
field, who is a surgery patient at
the Lutheran hospital there. Her
children accompanied them to
visit their mother. . . Loren Ra
kow, dispatcher for the CB&Q
railroad at Fremont, a former
resident of Page, is still hospital
ized for a heart ailment at a Fre
mont hospital and expects to be
there for a three month stay.
DELOIT—Alvie Parks was able
to return home from the Tilden
hospital last week. . . Mrs. Glen
Harpster had the misfortune to
have two ribs cracked and some
torn loose in an accident recently.
She is feeling much better at this
time. . . Four of the Earl Schrunk
family had their tonsils removed
at the Antelope Memorial hos
pital on Tuesday. They were: Mrs.
Alva Robinson, Earline, Laura
and Robert Schrunk. They all
spent Tuesday night at the hos
pital . Earline had complications
and was hospitalized Wednesday
night also. They were all able to
go home on Thursday. Their
grandmother, Mrs. Shober accom
panied them.
STUART—Mrs. Joe Schmader
er, sr., became ill at church Sun
day morning and was taken by
ambulance to Atkinson Memorial
hospital. . . Mrs. Charles Scholz
was taken to Atkinson Memorial
hospital Friday. . . Frank Kaup,
jr., and son, Alvin, went to Oma
ha by train Saturday and spent
Sunday with his mother, Mrs.
Frank Kaup, sr., who is a patient
in St. Joseph’s hospital. They re
turned home Monday evening. . .
Mrs. Guy Cadwallader was taken
to St. Anthony’s hospital in O’
Neill on Saturday.

White and daughter consulted an
ear specialist at Sioux City con
cerning Venita’s hearing Tues
day, May 31. . . Miss Delores
Doolitle submitted to an appen
dectomy last Thursday at the At
kinson Memorial hospital. She is
the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Art
Doolittle. . . John Hansen is hos
pitalized at Atkinson Memorial
hospital.
INMAN—Tommy Harte, young
son of Mr. and Mrs. Leo Harte,
entered St. Anthony’s on Monday,’
May 30, suffering from a slight
brain concussion that he received
at his home when he was climb
ing on a gate and fell on a ce
ment slab. Tommy was able to
return home on Wednesday
morning, June 1.

a piece of steel removed from his
eyeball by an O’Neill doctor Sun
day.
EMMET-Don Engler of McCook
is a patient at the St. Francis
hospital at Grand Island, to un
aergo surgery on one of his knees.
CELIA — Mr. and Mrs. Leroy
Hoffman spent last Thursday and
Friday in Omaha. Mrs. Hoffman
received medical treatment.

morial day weekend visiting old

Mrs. Marie Beelaert, who has
spent several weeks at St. An
thony’s hospital in O’Neill, was
released Saturday and is staying
at the home of her daughter, Mrs.
Gordon Harper, in O’Neill.
On sunaay afternoon, Mr. and
Mrs. Leonard Knapp attended the
wedding of Miss Doris Pierson
and Eddie Price which was held
at the Methodist church with a
reception held at the home of the
bride’s parents.

and children enjoyed a picnic
dinner on Sunday at the Freddie

where she is employed.
A picnic dinner was enjoyed
Sunday east of Ewing, honoring
the 13th birthday anniversary of
Karen Mlnarik with her parents,

Mrs. Kenneth Ruggles invited

16, to join the Emmet society for
a picnic dinner. Mrs. Ruggles has
taught the past two years in the
Ewing public school.
