tracts for the purchase of three
separate tracts real property
uncompleted at the time of de
ceased’s death, and to accept in
full settlement of the sums due
. under each of said contracts
amounts less than the sums called
for in said contracts and less in
terest, and to authorize the ad
ministrator to close and complete
said contracts on said compromise
basis.
All three of said petitions will
come on for hearing in the Coun
ty Court Room in O’Neill, Ne
braska, on the 14th day of June,
A.D., 1955, at ten o’clock A.M.,
or as soon thereafter as the samt*

high school alumni members in
attendance at the alumni banouet
Sunday evening at the high school
auditorium. Toastmaster was Miss
Viola Haynes.
The program opened with the
singing of the doxology. The
theme, “Time Marches On,” hon
ored a three-generation group of
graduates—Robert Beelaert, class
of 1955; his mother, Donna Harp
er Beelaert, class of 1931, and his
grandmother, Maude Reed Harp
er, class of 1911.
Mrs. Beelaert gave the welcome
and her son, Robert, presented the
response. Her mother, Mrs. Harp
er, spoke on “Education.”
Other speakers were Foy Clark,
Gene Terrill, Roger Bowen, Bob
Stevens and Lawrence Haynes.
A memorial tribute was paid
deceased members Helen Rakow
Persons and Keith Waring.
Mrs. Mae Fetrow was in
charge of the business meeting.
A report was given on the ex
pense connected with replacing
the class pictures which were
destroyed by fire. It was decid
ed to allow each class to make
its own replacement.
The Page high school song was
sung by the audience.
The 100 percent family of grad
uates included Mr. and Mrs. Har
old Heiss, Mrs. Lois Asher, Mrs.
Nancy Fink, Richard and Larry
The six children of Mrs. Eve
lyn Gray — Ralph and Duane
Gray and Virgil Chase, Erma
Weyer, Verna Walker and Euna
Baker—are all graduates.
Terry and Monte Taylor and
Gwendolyn Wanser Cronk and
Geraldine Wanser Kosmicke were
complete families of graduates
present. Monte Taylor came the
greatest distance.
The classes of 1911, 1931 and
1955 were honored and the class
of 1930 celebrated its silver anni
versary. Mr. and Mrs. Stanley
Gross and the class of 1955 were
guests.
The sun dial class distinctions
were carried out in black and gold
(the school colors) and hour
glass placecards fitted the theme.
Arthur Grass received the door
prize.
The banquet was prepared and
served by the American Legion
auxiliary.

WALNUT—Sunday afternoon,
May 22, at 5:30 o’clock, relatives
and friends filled St. Paul’s Luth
eran church for the wedding of
Miss Sharon Vonasek, daughter
of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Vonasek
of near Verdigre, and Richard
Miller, son of Mr. and Mrs. Irven
Miller of Walnut.
Rev. William Roth, pastor, per
formed the ceremony. Miss Joan
Von Segern was soloist and was
accompanied by Mrs. O. A. Cook,
who also played the traditional
wedding music.
The bride wore a white embroi
dered gown with a veil held in
place by a crown of rhinestones
and pearls. She carried a bouquet
of red roses. Miss Janet Vonasek,
cousin of the bride, and Miss
Marcella Miller, sister of the
bridegroom, were maid-of-hvnor
and bridesmaid. Both wore blue
gowns and contrasting nosegays.
The bridegroom’s attendants
were Harold Miller, his cousin,
and Joe Forett of Niobrara, a
friend. The bridegroom wore a
blue suit. Ushers were Richard
Cook and Vernon Held.
The chosen colors of blue and
white were carried out in all the
decorations for the reception held
in the ZCBJ hall at Verdigre and
also on the cakes and the aprons
of the waitresses.
The bride is a granddaughter
of Mr. and Mrs. Z. C. Vonasek.
The bridegroom recently re
turned home from Guam after
completing military service.
Relatives attended from Colo
rado, South Dakota, Creighton,
Verdigre, O’Neill, Venus, Star,
Walnut and Ewing.

ATKINSON — The Atkinson
high school alumni association is
celebrating its 50th anniversary
on Monday evening, June 6, in
the high school auditorium.
The high school has bean in
existence mifch longer than the
alumni association, which was
not organized until the spring of
1905.
The class of 1905 will be honor
ed. Three members are expected
to be present—Leroy C. Richards
of Atkinson, Lewis Miller of Lin
coln and Mrs. Anna Torpy Gal
ligan of Atkinson. They will re
ceive special recognition.
Roll call will be taken by the
secretary, Charles Shane. Mrs.
Fred (Florence Clifford) Boet
tcher will offer the welcome to
the alumni, and Donald Davis,
member of the silver anniversary
class, will give the response.
Mrs. John (Maude Walrath)
Silverstrand will conduct the bus
iness meeting. Ned Shaw of Bas
sett will be toastmaster.
There will be a history of the
growth of the alumni and a wel
come and initiation skit for the
incoming class. This will be given
by Toastmaster Shaw, Raymer
Funk and Lewis Miller. The re
sponse will be given by Gary
Small, president of the 1955 senior
class. The senior girls’ group will
sing the Indian ballad “From the
Land of the Sky Blue Waters,*’
with lyrics by Nellie Richmond

Saturday morning from Sterling,
Colo., where she spent the past
six weeks visiting.

ed bruises and scratches when
knocked down by a cow. He had
been bringing the cow and a calf
to the barn when the cow became
angered and charged on him.

Sioux Falls, S.D., where she is re
cuperating from ’an attack of po
lio.

Wednesday in the home of her
