Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Gallagher, Pat and Herb Underwood and Mr. and Mrs. William Claussen tried their luck at fishing May 22, but the fish seemed to have oth er ideas and weren’t too coop erative. However, some went prepared for such an emergency by taking steak and frying that along with “the precious few,” as was the case of the Oswald Drueke and Elmer Devall fami lies. Mr. and Mrs. Elwin Benson of Omaha came to the Blake Benson home Friday, May 19, and spent the weekend. Both families at tended the stock car races in O’ Neill on Sunday afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. Don Hynes and Lynda were dinner guests at the Austin Hynes home in O’Neill on May 22. In the afternoon Don’* visited the Dan Rakes family. Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Johnson were Sunday, May 22, callers at the Francis Johnson home. Sunday, May 22, the children and grandchildern of Mrs. Cece lia Grutsch gathered at the Harry Lansworth home, honoring Mrs. Grutsch’s birthday anniversary, which was Wednesday, May 19. All the children were present ex cept Johnny and family. Those attending were Mrs. Cecelia Grutsch, Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Ve quist and children, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Grutsch and children, Mr. and Mrs. Jim McNulty and La Donna, Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Pongratz and children. Mr. and Mrs. James Curran and Ardell, friends of Mrs. Grutsch, were al so present. There was a birthday gathering on May 22, at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Levi Yantzie when all their families gathered in honor of Mr. Yantzie’s birthday anni versary. Those present were Mr. and Mrs. Bob Yantzie and chil dren, Mr. and Mrs. Fritz Yantzie and children, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Yantzie and children and Mr. and Mrs. Sam Derickson and Russell.
