EWING—The annual dinner of
the Ewing fire department was
held Thursday evening, at the
American legion club and was at
tended by 45 persons. Fire Chief
Cecil Bergstrom and Ralph Munn
gave talks pertaining to fire pro
tection and R. H. Shain spoke on
civil defence.
At the business meeting, May
17 was set as the date for the an
nual firemen’s ball to be held at
Summer land.

Artist’s Concept of Proposed Atkinson School
Atkinson voters will go to the polls on Tuesday, May iu, to
vote “for” or “against” a proposed 155-thousand-dollar bond issue.
The architect of the proposed building is H. J. Strong Associates of
Norfolk. The building will include six class rooms, a kindergarten
room, a multi-purpose room and an extra storage room which may
oe converted to a kitchen at a later date, it will oe a orick veneer
building with a tile and plywood paneling interior. The floors will
be asphalt tile. There will be built-in storage cabinets and shelv
ing in the class rooms, semi-indirect lighting, devices necessary for
audio and visual aids.

Pfc. Warren James Gallagher,
son of Mr. and Mrs. James Galla
gher of Inman, sailed for
the United States from Honolulu,
T.H., Monday, April 18. Private
Gallagher served in Korea and
Japan a year and since October,
1954, has been stationed at Scho
field Barracks in Hawaii. He is
an ambulance driver in the army
medical corps.
