Mrs. Kloppenborg Is Shower Honoree EMMET — A pink-and - blue shower was held in honor of Mrs £?Y,in KloPPenborg at the Jess Wills home last Thursday after noon. Each lady brought a baby picture of themselves or a mem ber of their family. Prizes were given for the prettiest, most amusing and most expressive pictures. Winners were Mrs. Ma ry Lewis, Mrs. Gilbert Fox and Mrs. Alvin Kloppenborg. Mrs. Frank Foreman won a prize for identifying most of the pictures. Guests included: Mrs. Ernie Kloppenborg and daughters, Mrs Paul Newton and daughters, Mrs Gilbert Fox and daughter, Mrs. G. Owen Cole and daughters, Mrs. Robert Cole, Mrs. Dean Perry, Mrs. Charles Abart, Mrs. Walter Meiers and daughter, Mrs Mary Lewis, Mrs. Alvin Kloppen borg and daughter, Mrs. Norman Way man and daughter, Mrs. Henry Kloppenborg, Mrs. Frank Foreman, Mrs. Raymond Rich ards and son, Mrs. P. W. McGin nis, Mrs. Leon Beckwith, Mrs. Herman Grothe and daughter Mrs. Cecil McMillan. A lunch of cake and coffee was served by the hostess. Mrs. Klop penborg received many gifts. Mrs. Arthur Humpal and Mrs. Robert Cole visited Mrs. P. W. McGinnis Sunday afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. Walter Meiers and daughter, Megan, were sup per guests at the Wayne Fox home Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Fox, sr., and children, Carol and Raymond, of California were supper guests at the Gilbert Fox home Friday. The Charles Fox family has re turned to O'Neill to spend the spring and summer months. Mr. and Mrs. Harold McMillan and daughters, Carol and Kathy, were guests at the Cecil McMil lan home Saturday, i Mrs. P. W. McGinnis visited Mrs. Agnes Gaffney Sunday. Mrs. Dean Perry and daughter, Donna, called at the William Newton home Saturday after noon. Don Kloppenborg of Kimball spent the weekend visiting his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Kloppenborg, and other relatives. The George Brainard family were supper guests at the Vernon Hoxsie home last Thursday. Mr. and Mrs. Richard Schoell and son, Rick, of Burlington, la., were guests at the G. Owen Cole home Friday night. The Wayne Bates family visit ed Mr. and Mrs. John Kee at O’ Neill Sunday afternoon. Leonard Dusatko and son, Eu gene, visited at the Jerrold Du satko home Tuesday, April 12. Henry Patterson spent Saturday in Norfolk on business. Mrs. Fritz Brockman went to Burwell Monday, April 11, to visit relatives. The Wayne Fox family and Gordon Fox visited at the Char les Fox, sr., home at O’Neill Fri day evening. Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Fox and daughter and Lila Jean Miller were Saturday overnight guests at the Bob Tomlinson home at Star. The Fox and Tomlinson families attended the stock cat race at Bristow Sunday. Mrs. Mary Lewis attended the* project club council meeting at O’Neill Tuesday afternoon, Ap ril 12. Mrs. Ralph Theye and family of Neligh were guests of Mrs. Vernon Hoxsie and children on Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. G. Owen Cole drove to Lincoln Tuesday, April 12, where they were guests at. the William Schenck home. They drove to Omaha Wednesday, Ap ril 13, and returned home the same day. Mr. and Mrs. Delbert Hoxsie visited at the Vernon Hoxsie borne Saturday afternoon. Miss Karen Bates spent Sun day afternoon and night as a guest of her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Claude Bates of O’Neill. The Walter Pease family visit ed Mr. and Mrs. Jerrold Dusatko Sunday evening. Mr. and Mrs. D. Hi Clauson were supper guests of Mr. and Miss Gibson to Wed A. C. Gibson of Ewing is an nouncing the engagement of hie daughter, Miss Marcia (above), and Lewis Vandersnick, sen of Mr. and Mrs. Leo Vandersnick, also of Ewing. No date has been set for the wedding. Miss Gibson was graduated from the Ewing high school with the class of 1953. During her school years, she assisted her tather in the Gibson store. Since her graduation, she has been a stu dent nurse, taking training at the Nebraska Methodist hospi tal in Omaha. Mr. Vandersnick was also graduated from Ew ing high school. He served two years m the armed forces and since his discharge has been engaged in farming. Friends of St. Mary’s Elect New Officers The Friends of St. Mary’s held the final meeting of the school year Monday evening in the gym of St. Mary’s academy. Reports were given by the officers and the election of 1955-’56 officers took place. ( Those elected are: Mrs. Nor man Gonderinger, president; , Stanley Holly, vice-president; 1 Miss Mary Faulhaber, secretary; Dale French, treasurer. I Mr. and Mrs. Ray Bosn and Mr. and Mrs. George Collins were I named fund-raising committee chairmen. | Mother M. Agnesine reported on the fund raising and rewiring j of the academy, cost and expend-" itures. Total cost for the re-wir- / ing was $3,450. Of this- $1,450 was for wages and $2,000 for ma- . terials and fixtures. The Friends ' of St. Mary’s donated $2,000 for , the re-wiring project and other ' donations amounted to $1,200.
