Harry Eyer, 77, Rites at Orchard Member of IOOF for 40 Years ROYAL — Funeral services were conducted Monday, March 14, from the Evangelical United Brethern church in Orchard for Harry Eyer, 77, a longtime resi dent of the Royal and Orchard communities. He died Saturday, March 12, at the Plainview hos pital. Interment was in the Plea sant Valley cemetery. Rev. E. A. Smith of Plainview and Rev. Ro bert Strausberger of Royal offic iated. Harry Eyer, son of Alfred and Mary Ann Eyer was born Sep tember 5, 1877, the youngest in a family of nine children, at Ash land. At the age of 5-years-old, he came with his parents to Ante lope county. On June 15, 1899, he was united in marriage to Edith Leona Grove. Mr. Eyer had been a member of the Odd Fellows lodge for 40 years. He was affiliated with the United Brethern church at Or chard and the Methodist church at Royal. Mr. Eyer had been in ill health for some time, bedfast since Au gust 10, 1954, and had been con fined to the Plainview hospital for 10 weeks. Survivors include: Widow — Edith; daughter — Mrs. Clifford (Ruth) Meisner of Royal; grand sons — Gary, Kent and Bryce Meisner. Pallbearers were Keith Theland er, Ralph Schrader, Darrel Anson, Gilbert Eley, Ravmondo Woheb kel and Ray Beed. Music was furnished by Mrs. Mark Hendricks and Mrs. Lawrence Smith, ac companied on the piano by Mrs. Harvey Holbrook. RESOLUTION WHEREAS, the State of Ne braska Highway Commission and the State Highway Depart ment have submitted to the Legislature, a revised Highway System of State Roads for con sideration and adoption; and WHEREAS, said proposed System, if adopted, would drop 419 miles from the State Road System, and result in the drop ping of 45% miles of such road in Holt County, which 45% miles of road would necessarily revert to the County for up keep and maintenance, and, WHEREAS, said proposed re duction would cause Holt Coun ty to bear more than ten per cent of the total such reduction within the State as a whole, and would be discriminatory against Holt County, and WHEREAS, Holt County is unable to adequately maintain all present County Roads with available funds, and is unable to assume additional burdens of such kind, and WHEREAS, Holt County is one of the larger Counties in the State in area, and is sparsely Hospital Notes ST.
