To Vote on Girls’ State Delegate EWING—The American Legion auxiliary unit 214 met on Friday evening at the Legion club. The attendance was small, due to the weather conditions. Mrs. L. M. Carter presided at the business session. The group discussed sponsoring a girl for the 1955 cornhuskers girls’ state. It is planned to vote at the March meeting on the names submitted from the junior class of the Ew ing high school.| A check for $6.50 was sent to the little red school house fund. Mrs. M. B. Huffman will represent the unit at the mid winter conference to be held at Grand Island February 18 and 19. Mrs. Carter, who attended the county legion and auxiliary held at Atkinson, gave a report on the proceedings. The May meeting will be held in Ewing. Mrs. Carter also gave a report on the mothers’ march of dimes, which totaled approximately $89. Library Benefit— ATKINSON—Utile Dulci club will sponsor its annual library benefit card party Friday, Febru ary 18, at Atkinson library. On Saturday, February 19, he will marry Lila May Ritchey of Bartlett. The wedding will be at the Methodist church in Bartlett. Lynn is the only son of Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Briggs, formerly of this community. They now live at North Loup. Other Deloit News The Deloit Pinochle club met at the H. Werkmheister home on Monday evening, February 7. There were six tables. High score vent to Mrs. Leon Sisson and James Miller, low to Mr. and Mrs. Paul Funk. Traveling pme went to Mrs. Lambert Bartak and Ferdie Hupp. Assisting hostesses were Mrs. Charles McDonald and Mrs. Ferdie Hupp. Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Paul and Mr. and Mrs. Lambert Bartak at tended the funeral of a friend in Norfolk Friday afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Maben went to Grand Island Friday evening and met their son, Galen, who re turned home from service in Germany. Guests last Thursday evening at the Ewald Spahn home were Mr. and Mrs. H. Reimer, Mr. and Mrs. R. Tomjack, Mrs. Myrtle Jewell and Mrs. Ralph Beaudin and Jan. The party was in honor of Mrs. Tomjack’s birthday anniversary which was on February 10. The HEO club met at R. Tom jack’s last Thursday for a 1 o’ clock covered - dish luncheon. Guests were Mrs. Jewell, Mrs. Beaudin and Jan. The next meet ing will be at the Glenn Harpster home for a 1 o’clock luncheon on March 10. Elayne Reimer was a supper guest at the Wayne Kruntorad home Tuesday evening, February 8. Dorothy Green’s school had a valentine party Monday afternoon. Their guests were Elaynes Reimer and her seven pupils. Several from here attended the funeral for Agnes Hemenway at Clearwater on Monday. Agnes taught the Reimei school years ago. GETS $10 FINE Clayton Bennett, 25, Lynch farm hand, charged with obstructing a law enforcement officer who was making an official investigation, pleaded guilty Friday and was fined $10 and assessed costs of $4 by Boyd County Judge John P. Classen. The complaint against Bennett was filed by Fred R. Sa lak, of O’Neill, state conservation officer. ATTENDS MEETING Henry Lofflin attended a Gam bles managers’ meeting from Sun day until Wednesday in Fremont. Sedivy-Zimmerman Nuptials at Lynch LYNCH—Miss Lona A. Sedivy, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Sedivy of Lynch, and Merle D. Zimmerman, son of Mr. and Mrs. Otto Zimmerman of Crofton, were married at the Christ Lutheran church Saturday evening, Febru ary 12, at an 8 o’clock candlelight ceremony with Rev. L. W. Meyers officiating. The bride has lived near Lynch all her life and was graduated from the Lynch schools with the class of 1953. She is teaching her second year in a rural school near Crofton. Mr. Zimmerman received his discharge from the service a few weeks ago. A reception was held at the Lynch hall following the ceremony. The couple plans to live on a farm near Crofton. ‘Vtry Different’ Entertainment Planned— There will be a general meeting of St. Patrick’s Aaltar society to night (Thursday) at 7:30 o’clock. St. Rose’s guild is entertaining. Something very different is plan ned for entertainment, a spokes man said.
