A good crowd was in attendance. Fancywork for the bazaar was the pastime of many. A lunch was served by the hostess. Chairman for the committees of the bazaar, held Wednesday De cember 8, were: Mrs. J. L. Pruden, aprons: Mrs. William Spence, fancywork; Mrs. Andrew Olsen, grab bag; Miss Anna Van Zandt, country store and publicity; Mrs. Anna Pollock, greeting cards; Mrs. Perry Saiser, menu. At the business session of the regular meeting held Wednesday afternoon, December 1, the bazaar was the main topic of discussion. It was voted to serve a noon lunch eon of soup, sandwiches, pie and coffee. Special attention was to be given to school children. The table committee reported the arrival of two more folding tables for the dining room, which makes a total of four. The annual Christmas party for the members of the society will be held Wednesday, December 15, in stead of December 17 as planned. The lesson on “Future Peace” was presented by Mrs. Ralph Eac ker. Miss Anna Van Zandt had charge of the devotional period. The Frontier for printing. “The Old Reliable” Market Report Tuesday, Dec. 7th Cattle receipts exceeded all expectations with 2,246 offered to the best buying crowd of the year. Close observers com menting on the sale rated it the best of the year. All class es shared the advance with steer calves topping at 24.40 per cwt. Bulk of the choice steer calves from 22.00 to 24.40. Good kinds 19.50 to 22.00. Heifers were in good supply and buyers took them at 17.00 to 19.00 per cwt. Choice year ling steers 20.50 to 22.00. Year ling heifers were 15.75 to 17.00. Two-year-old steers brought 19.00 to 20.00. Cows and bulls shared the advance and most classes sold 50c per cwt. higher. We need some more cattle for next week’s auction. Phone collect.
