Chambers News Mr. and Mrs. Louis Bonifast of near Seattle, Wash., vistied friends at Chambers Friday. They were residents of this vicinity about 40 years ago. Mrs. Paul Gaiser of Lincoln came Sunday to visit a couple of days with her brother and sis ter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Grimes, and boys and her sister, Mrs. T. E. Newhouse, and Mr. Newhouse. Bruce Grimes arrived Sunday from Camp Pendleton, Calif. He recently received his discharge from the armed service. Rev. and Mrs. J. M. Hodgkin were Thanksgiving guests in the Louis Neilsen home. Mrs. J. W. Wintermote and Mrs. Herman Cook carried out a surprise anniversary party for Mr. and Mrs. Louis Neilson Fri day evening. Those present were Mr. and Mrs. Will Lehman, Mr. and Mrs. Keith Sexton and Na dine, Rev. and Mrs. J. M. Hodg kin, Mrs. L. F. Holloway, Mr. and Mrs. Herman Cook, Mrs. Wintermote, Lou Bonifast, a former resident of this vicinity, and Mr. and Mrs. Neilson. Games were played and informal visit ing enjoyed. A part of the lunch was a decorated cake ornament ed with roses and wedding bells. Mr. and Mrs. Duane K. Miller and daughter and Mr. and Mrs. Don Gartner visited Sunday with Mr. Miller’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. K. W. Miller, at Neligh. A group of men from the Methodist church gathered at the C. V. Robertson place Friday, November 26, wher they sawed wood for the furnace at the par sonage. They planned to meet again on Tuesday to finish the work. James Tangeman, who attends Wesleyan university at Lincoln, Vivian Harley, who is attending college at Seward, and Marilyn Walter, teacher at Central City, were in Chambers for the Thanksgiving holidays. Guests in the home of Mr. and Mrs. R. K. Platt on Thanksgiving day were Mr. and Mrs. James Platt and Mrs. Esther V/ood. Mr. and Mrs. C. V. Robertson and John Walter were Thanks giving dinner guests of their son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Delbert Robertson, and children at O’Neill. Mr. and Mrs. E. R. The Woman’s society of the Methodist church sponsored a bake sale on Saturday at the Shavlik hardware. The proceeds of about $48 will be used to pur chase suits for the church bas ketball team. Elwin Benson Returns from Greenland— Mr. and Mrs. Elwin Benson of Omaha arrived Wednesday, No vember 24, to spend the Thanks giving holiday with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Blake Benson. He had returned Monday, November 22, from Narsarssuak, Greenland, where he was employed since June with the North Atlantic Construction Engineers. Mr. and Mrs. C. L. Mrs. Minnie Reimers at 91 st Milestone EWING—Mrs. Minnie Reimer celebrated her 91st birthday an niversary on Wednesday, Novem ber 24. She spent the day quietly at her home in east Ewing. Many cards, gifts and letters were re ceived. Mrs. Reimer is confined to a wheelchair since receiving an in jury in a fall some time ago. Her daughter, Mrs. Helen Lee, and sons reside with her.
