Van Ostrand’s Car Clips Bridge Railing DELOIT— Bruce Van Ostrand may have fallen asleep on the way home from town Sunday evening. His car ran off the bridge north of Ferdie Hupp’s, removing the entire west railing. He was not hurt. Visitors last week at the Foster Felker home were their daughter end her baby of McCook. On Friday they went to Norfolk to attend the Norfolk-McCook junior college football game. The daugh ter and baby returned home to McCook with her husband, who played on the McCook team. Mrs. Kenny Ziska and two children of Atkinson spent the past week at the Leo Funk home. Mrs. Ziska has been helping her mother following her return from the hospital. Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Larson were recent visitors at the Henry Reimer home. Visitors at the Leo Funk home were Bill, Elsie and Rose Hupp, Mr. and Mrs. John Sehi and Mr. and Mrs. G. A. Bauer. Mrs. Louis Pofahl was hostess to the Deloit Pinochle club last Thursday. Mr. Melton has autographed a program for Miss Margaret McElvain and is presenting it to her. Two students against the wall are Regina Vitt and Nyla Jaszkowiak. Couple Entertains Ewing Grid Squad and Pep Clubbers EWING— The Ewing high Ti gers and Pep club, 72 in number, were entertained last Thursday evening at the parlors of the Ew ing Methodist church by Mr. and Mrs. L. A. Hobbs, who are ath letic enthusiasts here. Other guests were Supt. and Mrs. L. M. Carter, Coach and Mrs. Rich ard Lane and Jay Butler, who attended the football games and provided transportation many times. A steak dinner with all the trimmings was served at 6 o’clock. Tables were decorated in the school colors of orange and black. Goal posts were at the end and the centerpiece was made up of miniature megaphones and foot balls. Placecards for the boys were “jerseys” \ftith their numer als on them; placecards for the girls were megaphones with their names. Doris Mae Deems, John Buford Wed STUART—Doris Mae Deems of Omaha was united in marriage with John J. Buford, formerly of Stuart, on Sunday, November 7. The 4 o’clock ceremony was performed in the Benson Presby terian church in Omaha. Mrs. Buford is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C. S. Deems of Om aha. Mr. Buford is a son of the late Wiley Craig and Mrs. Buford, former residents of Stuart, and was graduated from Stuart high school with the class of 1942. The couple will take a wedding trip to Mississippi where they will visit the bridegroom’s mother, who was unable to be present at the wedding. Visit at Stuart— Mrs. M. B.
