Loock, son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Loock of Spencer, left Sunday for Ft. Lewis, Wash., after a two weeks’ visit with home folks. He is senior switchboard operator in the headquarters battery of the 44th division. His sister, Darlene, accompanied him to Portland, Ore., where she will visit a week with relatives. N. E. Medcalf has purchased the Thaine Humphrey Body Shop in Atkinson. The shop wiU now be known as Pat’s Body Shop. Mr. Medcalf took over Monday. The Saddle club will hold a practice Friday evening at 8 o' clock at the club grounds. Erownies Have Fun Morning— All the Brownie troops gather ed last Thursday at Ford’s park for a morning of fun. Leaders who were present and helped were Mrs. W. B. Gillespie, Mrs. Reed Herley and Mrs. Rob ert Miles. Games were under the leader ship of Mrs. Leo Gokie and Mrs. Miles. Mrs. Herley had charge of handicraft. Each girl was able to start and complete a leather belt. The children were taught two new songs by Mrs. Carroll W. Stewart. The life guards at the pool supervised water games.
