Baccalaureate services were held Sunday evening, May 16, with Rev. A. J. The group met again Wednes day, May 19, with Mrs. Charles Coolidge hostess; Mrs. Gene Hal sey, assisting. Nineteen members were present. Mrs. Melvin Bell read several poems and Mrs. Coolidge con ducted pencil games. A card, signed by all present, was sent to Mrs. Lois Adams, a patient in St. Anthony’s hospital. Next meeting will be June 2 with Mrs. E. G. Wintermote. She will be assisted by Mrs. Clyde Kiltz. Sgt. and Mrs. Rex Homer and children arrived Friday from Omaha. Schneider, son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Schneider of Stuart, is enroute to the U.S. after serving in Japan whh the First cavalry division. Formerly a combat construc tion specialist in the Eighth en gineer combat battalion, Schnei der entered the army in July, 1952, and served in the Far East 15 months. Former Furniture Dealer Here Dies Harry G. Jordan, 70-year-old Lincoln furniture dealer, died' Thursday, May 20, at Lincoln. He was born at Stuart, attend ed school at Gordon and worked in a furniture store at Gordon for several years. In 1913 he op erated a furniture store at O’ Neill, later moving to Burke, S.D. In 1922, the late Mr. Jordan moved to Lincoln. Survivors include: Widow; daughters— Virginia of Lincoln and Mrs. Melvin Clark of Mel beta. Visitors Here— Mrs. Arthur B. Roberts of Santa Ana, Calif., arrived Sat urday and will visit relatives and friends in O’Neill for several weeks.
