Atkinson High Counts 25 Seniors (Class photo at right) ATKINSON — Dr. R o y c e Knapp, professor of school ad ministration, University of Ne braska teachers’ college, will address 25 seniors at Atkinson high school tonight (Thursday) at 8 o’clock. The following students will graduate: Delores Addison, Grace Allyn, Alice Anderson, Hilda Deseive, Frederick Dobro volny, Nadine Dobrovolny, Car ole Enbodv, Dale Garwood, Kay Johnson, Raymond Meusch, Her man Meyer, Kenneth Mitchell, Fred Mulford, James O’Connor, Hetty Osborne, Jack Osborne, David Phipps, Elsie Pokorny, Jason Reber, Patricia Roberts, Eunice Rossman, Gary Shermer, Gayle Siebert, Donald Withers. Baccalaureate services were held on Sunday, May 16. Rev. E. W. Danitschek, pastor of St. John’s Lutheran church, deliv ered the sermon on the subject, “Days of Destiny.’’ Burwell Voters Okay $80,000 School Bond— BURWELL — Burwell voters approved an S80.000 school bond issue here May 11 by a margin of four votes. Burwell City Attorney Wil liam Manasil said the city coun cil would meet to enter negotia tions with architects for the completion of the proposal. Two hundred and ninety three voters went to the polls to ballot on the proposal. One hun dred and sixty-six persons voted for the plan and 127 voted against it. The proposal needed 55 percent of the total vote cast to be adoDted. Visitors Here— Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Stevens oi Oakland spent May 8 and 9 at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Grutsch. At a tamily dinner Maurice and El vin were also guests of their parents and Miss Effie Stevens. Mock-Sheets Nuptials Read at Norfolk DELOIT—Donald Sheets, son of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Sheets of the St. John’s community, and Darlene Mock of Norfolk were married Tuesday, May 11, in Norfolk. A large number of relatives from this community attended. Other Deloil News Marvin Werkmeister, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Werkmeis ter, is home on leave. He has been stationed in California. Mrs. Scott Clow arrived by bus last Thursday from Denver, Colo., to visit relatives and at tend the high school graduation 01 two nieces and a nephew. Mrs. Glenn Harpster and Mrs. Henry Reimer and Elayne at tended a shower for Sally Chris ton in Ewing on Monday eve ning. Miss Christon and Jim Conway are to be wed in June. The HEO club met last Thurs day at the Glenn Harpster home. Next meeting will be June 10 at Werkmeister’s. A number of school picnics were held Sunday. Deloit school held its picnic supper supper last Thursday evening. The eve ning was spent playing cards. Mr. and Mrs. Latzel of Ewing attended the picnic at the Rei mer school on Sunday. Mrs. Scott Clow and Anita Lee called at the Fred Harpster and Henry Reimer homes on Saturday. , Most of the corn was planted te past week. Moisture is wel come. Martin Van Conant started work on the nortth end of high way 108 past the Fred Schmidt place last week. Elayne Reimer was one of the 23 seniors graduated from WCHS, Bartlett, Tuesday. Don Larson and a friend from Wayne spent the weekend at the Leonard Larson home. Don plans to attend summer school at Wayne. Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Paul and Larry and Mr. and Mrs. Lambert Bartak were guests Sunday eve ning at the Melvin Rexine home in honor of the Rexines’ wed ding anniversary. Mrs. Henry Reimer and Miss Elayne attended the wedding in Lincoln on Saturday for Joan Larson, second daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Larson of Lin coln, and James Harris of Oma ha at the Church of the Holy Trinity. Mr. and Mrs. Don Starr and Elizabeth of West Point ard Mr. and Mrs. Howard Tem ple of Hastings were also guests. at the parental Charles Bare home on mother’s day. Mrs. L. I. Greene of Victor ville, Calif., visited with her brother, Louis Nelson, and fam ily last week. Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Dawson of Bloomfield visited at the home of the former’s sister, Mrs. Jake Serk, and Mr. Serk. Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Mammot and son of Grand Island visited relatives here last week. Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Clyde of Verdel visited at the Art Avery home over the weekend. Eldora Serk of O’Neill visited at the Jake Serk home recently. Mr. and Mrs. Gene Lech ten berg of Butte visited at the Jack Tarr and Bernard Webber homes bunday. Frank Vlcan of Creighton ...
